The striker born in 1997 was brought onto the field in the second half of the friendly match between Nam Dinh Club and PVF-CAND Youth, taking place tonight (October 11). The 28-year-old striker returned to the training ground last month to regain his ball feel and physical strength. Along with this match, Xuan Son was given the opportunity by coach Vu Hong Viet to regain his playing rhythm, which had been absent for 10 months due to injury treatment.

Xuan Son is still gradually recovering after nearly a year of treatment. The 28-year-old striker has been absent since the beginning of January, after being injured in the second leg of the AFF Cup final against Thailand at Rajamangala Stadium (the Vietnamese team won 3-2 to win the championship).

Xuan Son then underwent a successful surgery and underwent a four-stage rehabilitation training process. During the Brazilian striker's absence, the Vietnamese team played three matches in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers with two wins and one loss.
