On September 1st, Nguyen Xuan Son and his family returned to Vietnam after more than a month in Brazil. The striker, born in 1997, quickly arrived in Nam Dinh to rejoin his club and resume his usual routine of training and daily activities.
Through a training video shared by Nam Dinh Club on September 2nd, Xuan Son demonstrated his ability to train with the ball at high intensity.
Accordingly, he can run, move flexibly between markers, and pass the ball with both feet. In the future, this player will continue to improve his speed, stamina, and strength, while regaining his feel for playing at high speed.
Xuan Son is striving to return to his highest level since suffering an injury in January of this year during the 2024 ASEAN Cup final. Since his surgery, Son has spent eight months recovering and undergoing rehabilitation.
Nam Dinh FC is not in a hurry regarding Xuan Son's case, so they did not register him to play in the first half of the V-League 2025-2026 season.
Recently, the team hired a specialist to guide Xuan Son and other injured Nam Dinh players in their rehabilitation training.
It is expected that Xuan Son will be able to return to playing by the end of the year, or at the latest, the beginning of next year. Xuan Son's absence is a major loss for Nam Dinh Club and the Vietnamese national team. This player is very determined to help the Vietnamese national team revive their hopes of qualifying for the 2027 Asian Cup.
