The meaning of the pickleball prize: 'Walking through life with your child'

On the morning of April 12th, at the Passion pickleball court (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), Thanh Nien Newspaper successfully organized the pickleball tournament "Helping Children Continue Their Lives," donating 112 million VND to support 20 orphaned children after the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is the second time the "Helping Children Continue Their Lives" pickleball event has been held. The organizers personally handed each child 5.5 million VND to help cover their educational expenses. The donations came from MC Ly Chanh - representing RuNam, who contributed 20 million VND; Mr. Minh Tuan Hang Xanh - representing Minh Tuan Mobile, who contributed 40 million VND; Van An Phat Land Company, who contributed 30 million VND; lawyer Truong Anh Tu, who contributed 10 million VND; and Mr. Huy Ga - of the Ga Spa brand, who contributed 10 million VND. On this occasion, Miss World Environment 2023 Nguyen Thanh Ha donated 200 notebooks to the children. Hoang Anh, a second-grade student and the youngest of the 20 children, received an additional 2 million VND from Mr. Nong Quynh Luu, representative of the Luc Yen gemstone brand (Yen Bai).

Speaking at the tournament, journalist Duc Trung, General Secretary of the Editorial Board and Permanent Vice President of the Thanh Nien Newspaper Journalists' Association, expressed his emotion at witnessing the generosity of benefactors who have accompanied Thanh Nien Newspaper in successfully organizing the tournament. Those who donated cash, those who contributed their time and resources, all strived to create a meaningful tournament, providing support for orphaned children after the Covid-19 pandemic, helping these children have the opportunity to study and take control of their lives.

In particular, besides donating money to the children, Mr. Ly Chanh also gave each child a gift bag, which included a stuffed snub-nosed monkey with a message about wildlife conservation from RuNam.

The "Continuing Life Together with Your Child" pickleball tournament on the morning of April 12th saw the participation of over 50 athletes. Launched on September 16, 2021, the program "Walking Through Life with Your Child," a program launched by Thanh Nien Newspaper, aims to provide long-term care and support for orphaned children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, who unfortunately lost one or both parents due to the pandemic. As of January 2025, the total amount of long-term sponsorship, emergency aid, and scholarships for Covid-19 orphaned children through this program is 64.5 billion VND. This figure is the result of the joint efforts and support of many benevolent individuals and organizations both domestically and internationally.

In the Champions League category, the pair Thai Chi Hung and Dinh Phu won the championship.

In Serie B, the winning team was Ly Chanh - Akira Phan; the runner-up was Phan Thuong - Quang Tuan. The two teams tied for third place were Son Tung - Nghi Thao and Quang Huy - Cao Khoa.

In Serie A, the champions were Doc Lap and Hoang Quynh; the runners-up were Hong Phuc and The Trieu. The two teams tied for third place were Ha Nguyen and Dr. Ti, and Xuan Van and Nhat Minh.
