My mission is not over yet.

From Egypt, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc - the reigning Miss Intercontinental 2022 (Miss Intercontinental) talked to Giao Thong Newspaper about her past journey and her emotions before handing over the crown to someone else in a few days. She is also a member of the jury of this year's contest.

Always try to adapt to each milestone

The time is coming for you to hand over the crown to the next person. Looking back on your coronation journey, what memory do you remember the most?

It was the time to go to Egypt to compete. I had less than a month to complete the tasks. It was also the first time I went abroad so it was quite stressful. My team and I tried to prepare everything as best as possible while we were still in Vietnam.

Besides my determination, I also enjoyed this journey. I felt comfortable communicating and making friends, and confident when performing the competitions.

I am always ready for the competition schedule. In each activity, my team and I also think about how to appear to be the most neat. I feel that the journey is really complete and in the end we were rewarded appropriately.

What have you done and will do to make sure the public always remembers you after you have handed over the crown?

For me, the title of Miss Intercontinental or the title of 1st Runner-up Miss World Vietnam are both milestones and very meaningful journeys.

I have always tried to adapt to each milestone as quickly as possible, integrating new things with reality. For example, after being crowned, I will still maintain my studies or further develop myself in modeling and social work.

Planning meticulously and precisely, always trying your best at work, is that your strength?

Planning meticulously is probably my strength and that is also a factor I am looking for in candidates. I really like meticulousness in work.

Once we have chosen a certain path or have a certain goal, we must always invest the most effort, time, enthusiasm and determination.

Willing to share success

Vietnam's representative at Miss Intercontinental 2023, Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang, is expected to follow in the footsteps of her senior Bao Ngoc in making history at this year's contest. How did you share your experiences with Ngoc Hang?

What I shared with Ngoc Hang was experience and experience. Experience is what I prepared and planned before taking the exam. The rest is experience after a year of doing the task. I looked back on my journey and learned lessons, what was important and what needed to be omitted.

As the reigning Miss Intercontinental, I understand more about what the organizers want from the owner of the crown. And that is what I tried to convey to Ngoc Hang.

Besides, Ngoc Hang has her own strategies and plans, hopefully all of the above can help Hang in some way in her journey in this year's competition.

What do you think about Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang?

I like Hang's neatness and diligence in communicating with people. At the same time, Ngoc Hang also has many talents and is a person who brings positive energy to everyone.

In the final stages of the competition, I hope Ngoc Hang will show more and more, so that she can truly stand out and shine more.

With beauties from countries around the world gathering at Miss Intercontinental 2023 in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), which representatives do you think will make the top 10?

At this point, it is really too early to predict. In the coming time, there will be many activities for you to express yourself more. We still need time to see the outstanding strength of each candidate in each continent.

What do you think is better and newer in this year's contest compared to last season?

The organizers always want the contestants to have a comfortable spirit, so the atmosphere of the contest is always very cheerful. The new thing this year is the online voting section, the contestant with the highest number of votes will have the opportunity to go straight to the top 7.

What have you prepared for the final walk on the Final Night on December 15 and having to leave your crown?

For the final walk, I always have a positive mood, of course there will be certain regrets when having to give up the crown.

But I'm still pretty excited to see my journey being followed by the next girl, with her journey.

I myself am more of a future-oriented person. I will still be Miss Intercontinental. Once you have the title, you will forever be part of the Miss Intercontinental house.

How have you fulfilled your mission in a year of wearing the crown?

My mission will not only be during my current term but will continue. What happened in the past year is a foundation for me to move forward. Therefore, I also hope to continue to have the support of the media and the public so that my upcoming journey will spread more than what I have built.

Self-assessment, how well do you feel you have fulfilled your duties during the crowning process?

I still have a journey to continue. As for this current journey, let the audience and my companions who have followed my journey evaluate what I have done, they will have a more objective view.

Just over a day before the final night of the contest, the Miss Intercontinental Organizing Committee announced that the 50th anniversary crown of the "Power of Beauty" contest will not be handed over to the successor, but instead the reigning MIC 2022 - Bao Ngoc will continue to hold this crown.

Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc was born on June 18, 2001 in Can Tho , and was in the top 20 of the Miss Vietnam 2020 contest.

Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc is the first runner-up of the Miss World Vietnam contest, leaving for the 50th Miss Intercontinental contest, held in Egypt in October 2022, surpassing 70 other contestants to win the crown.

Bao Ngoc is the most outstanding contestant in the competitions she has participated in with a height of up to 1.85m. She is also the first Vietnamese representative to be crowned Miss Intercontinental 2022.

This is the third victory of a Vietnamese representative in the international beauty pageant arena. Before Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, Nguyen Phuong Khanh won Miss Earth 2018 and Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was crowned Miss Grand International 2021.
