At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Huu Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, presented a speech, reviewing the life, career, and great contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

He affirmed that Comrade Nguyen Van Linh was one of President Ho Chi Minh's outstanding students, a staunch communist soldier, a prestigious leader of our Party, State and people, a trusted friend of international friends; his revolutionary life was rich and glorious.

Nearly 70 years of working in many regions, localities, and fields, spread across all three regions of the country and being entrusted by the Party and State with many important responsibilities, no matter where he was, what job he did, or what position he held, he was always devoted to the Party and the people, steadfast in the face of all difficulties and challenges, steadfast in the ideal goal of national independence and socialism; excellently completing his tasks and making enormous contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Celebrating the 110th anniversary of Comrade Nguyen Van Linh's birth on the occasion when our entire Party, people and army are striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the resolutions of the Central Committee, continuing to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity of Comrade Nguyen Van Linh, promoting the achievements of the country's renovation over nearly 40 years.

With the pride of the homeland, the Party Committee, government and people of Hung Yen province vow to continue to promote the cultural and revolutionary traditions, solidarity, creativity, innovation, promote comprehensive socio-economic development, build a clean and strong Party and political system, improve the material and spiritual life of the people, continue to maintain national defense and security, determined to "Make Hung Yen a strong province of the whole country of Vietnam" as the will of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the life of comrade Nguyen Van Linh is a song of communist ideals and bravery, and a journey of tireless service to the people. These values are invaluable spiritual heritages, provisions for current and future generations to continue building a socialist Vietnam with a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

The General Secretary stated that at the 6th National Congress of the Party in 1986, facing the myriad difficulties of the centrally planned economy, the prolonged stagnation and subsidies, comrade Nguyen Van Linh affirmed that it was impossible to continue following the old way. Without innovation, the country would not be able to develop, and the people would not be able to be prosperous.

As the Party General Secretary, he initiated strong reform policies, removed institutional barriers, liberated production capacity, expanded autonomy for the grassroots, piloted and then consolidated non-state economic sectors, established a market mechanism under State management, expanded foreign relations, and proactively integrated internationally.

One of his special marks is the series of articles “Things to do immediately” in Nhan Dan Newspaper since 1987, under the pen name “NVL”. This is the frank, courageous and responsible voice of the Party leader, demonstrating the spirit of fighting negativity, resolutely handling corruption, bureaucracy and waste – diseases that corrode the Party’s prestige and the people’s trust.

From his strategic and decisive directions, the renovation process has brought about profound changes in all fields. Thanks to that, the Vietnamese economy has gradually overcome the crisis, people's lives have improved significantly, and the country's international position has been increasingly enhanced.

The General Secretary emphasized that the life, career and innovative thinking of Comrade Nguyen Van Linh left many profound lessons of lasting value in every stage of the country's development, especially in the current process of innovation, integration and development. These are lessons about innovative thinking, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility.

Comrade Nguyen Van Linh once affirmed that innovation does not mean denying the past, but continuing to develop from practice, daring to look straight at the truth to act. The lesson is about being closely attached to the people, starting from the interests of the people. He often went to the grassroots, listened to the people's feedback, and came into contact with real life.

His reform decisions did not originate from books, but from the desires and survival needs of the people, of businesses, of each cooperative and small enterprise. Lessons on fighting individualism, preserving revolutionary ethics, and rectifying the Party from within.

In the series of articles “Things to do immediately”, he did not hesitate to criticize frankly the manifestations of corruption, vested interests, and abuse of power. Lessons on independent thinking, promoting internal strength, and rising from oneself.

During the renovation period, he always emphasized that Vietnam's renovation does not follow anyone's orders, does not follow external models, but originates from its own reality, for the benefit of the nation. That is a profound vision, suitable even in today's globalization context.

On the occasion of July 1, all 34 provinces and cities with 3,321 wards, communes and special zones entered the first working day of the 2-level administrative unit model. The General Secretary affirmed his belief that although the initial period will inevitably face certain difficulties, with the high political determination of the cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees and the support of the people, we will overcome all difficulties to achieve the set goals and requirements. In particular, learning the spirit and ideology of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh and acting according to the teachings of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh, we will certainly succeed.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Phach, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, shared that we can proudly affirm that the achievements of Hung Yen province today are partly due to the precious legacy that General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh left behind.

He said he absolutely believes in the path that our Party and beloved Uncle Ho have chosen, and that Comrade Nguyen Van Linh has sacrificed his whole life; at the same time, he will continue to be an exemplary Party member, actively encouraging his children and grandchildren to enthusiastically work, study, and do good work to contribute to the industrialization and modernization of Hung Yen province.

According to comrade Tran Quoc Viet, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nguyen Van Linh commune, promoting the tradition of the homeland, remembering the sincere and close words of advice and encouragement of the homeland's children, following the moral example of loyalty and creativity of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh, the Party Committee, government and people of the former communes, now Nguyen Van Linh commune, will continue to unite and work together to build a commune with a developed economy, stable politics, maintained security and order, the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improved, building a clean and strong Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and political organizations.

The delegation also offered incense at the Memorial House of Lieutenant General Nguyen Binh, paying tribute to the shining example of a steadfast communist and talented military man who made great contributions to the cause of national liberation.
