Nguyen Tuan Anh, a young man born in 1989 from Binh Dinh, was an excellent student at Hue University of Science . However, the accident happened when Tuan Anh was a senior student. On a trip to the laboratory to culture specimens, he unfortunately encountered hail and a tornado. An ancient phoenix tree branch suddenly broke and fell on his back, causing a fracture of the T11 and T12 spine and four broken ribs. The broken ribs pierced his lungs, causing pleural effusion, and the severe spinal injury left him completely paralyzed in both lower limbs.

After the accident, Tuan Anh understood that he would no longer be able to walk. But instead of giving up, he chose to face it and adapt. With extraordinary willpower, just a few months after the incident, he completed his thesis and received an engineering degree with honors as an affirmation: "I am still alive, and I will live a useful life."

Not stopping there, in 2018, he co-founded the Vietnam Spinal Injury Club, where hundreds of people with disabilities are connected, shared and lifted up their spirits together. He also found a passion in growing and caring for orchids – small but resilient buds, just like his own determination in the face of adversity.

Overcoming many physical and mental limitations, Tuan Anh continues to pursue his academic dream. He has just completed his Master's program in Australia, with the desire to use his knowledge to improve policies and lives for people with disabilities in Vietnam. For him, studying is not about advancing alone, but about "sowing seeds of hope for the community".
