After three days of intense competition at Permaipura Golf & Country Club, Vietnam Golf Team member Nguyen Tuan Anh finished the 2025 Malaysian Amateur Open as runner-up, with a total score of -6.
The 16-year-old golfer recorded rounds of 68-72-67, continuing his impressive streak throughout the 2025 season.
The runner-up finish in Malaysia is Tuan Anh’s latest international milestone. Previously, in September, the young Vietnamese talent made a splash when he won the Thailand Amateur Open, a tournament with a history of more than half a century and has produced many of Asia’s top golfers.

Tuan Anh’s result also continues to extend the mark of Vietnamese golf at the Malaysian Amateur Open. A year ago, Nguyen Anh Minh gradually won the championship, and now Tuan Anh has helped Vietnam stand out in one of the oldest and most prestigious amateur tournaments in the region.
At the age of 16, Tuan Anh is writing an amazing journey, affirming the aspiration of Vietnamese golf to reach the international level. This year, he overcame many strong opponents to win the National Golf Championship - Gia Lai 2025, before winning the title of Best Amateur at Singha Bangkok Open.
With this convincing performance, Tuan Anh showed his stability and maturity, a promising sign before he embarks on the journey to defend the national flag at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand this December.
