10 years of spreading the study and following of Uncle Ho

DTO - Under the leadership of the Standing Committee of Thanh Binh District Party Committee, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle has created strong changes in the awareness and actions of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life. Thereby, it has made an important contribution to improving the quality of the political system's operations, firmly consolidating people's trust, and promoting the local socio-economic development.

SERIOUS STUDY, DEEP TRANSFORMATION

Over the past 10 years, the District Party Committee has identified studying, thoroughly grasping, propagating and implementing Directive No. 05 dated May 15, 2016 of the 12th Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; Conclusion No. 01 dated May 18, 2021 of the 13th Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05 and annual seminars as key tasks. The entire district has organized more than 200 study classes and seminars, attracting over 81,000 attendees, of which the rate of party members participating has always been maintained at over 98%. Notably, every year, after each study session, each cadre, party member, civil servant, public employee, union member and association member in the district seriously writes a registration form for self-cultivation, training and setting an example. Over the past 10 years, the total number of annual registrations has reached nearly 18,250 people, reaching over 98%.

Lieutenant Colonel Ta Thi Phuong Linh - Deputy Chief of Thanh Binh Town Police, shared: “For me, learning from Uncle Ho means constantly practicing ethics, style and spirit of serving the people responsibly and sincerely. Recently, I participated in the model of "Making mobile citizen identification cards at home for the elderly and disabled". There were times when I went to people's houses early in the morning or late in the afternoon, although it was tiring, I found it very meaningful. The gratitude and joy from the people are the motivation for me to continue learning and following Uncle Ho through small but practical actions".

Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front Committees and socio-political organizations in the district have based on the plan of the District Party Committee to concretize it into programs and implementation plans in accordance with the functions and tasks of each agency, unit and locality. Learning from Uncle Ho is identified as a key and regular task, along with attention to promptly and effectively resolving urgent and prominent issues at the grassroots level. The work of monitoring, inspecting, supervising and evaluating the results of registering the content of self-cultivation, training and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style of collectives and individuals is focused on in order to continuously improve the quality of implementation.

Comrade Le Tuong Lai - Secretary of the Tan Binh Commune Party Committee, shared: “We identify learning and following Uncle Ho as a continuous and central task. Learning and following Uncle Ho is associated with the implementation of local political tasks, especially in administrative reform, building new rural areas and taking care of people's lives. The Commune Party Committee directs Party cells to hold regular meetings with specific topics, and at the same time build a model of "Typical examples of following Uncle Ho" in each hamlet and each self-managed People's Group. The commune's model of "5 procedures without waiting, without appointment" has created high consensus and has been positively evaluated by the people. In addition, we build "Bright - green - clean - beautiful roads self-managed by the people", contributing to raising community awareness, in the spirit of self-awareness, responsibility and contributing to building an increasingly civilized and developed homeland".

DIVERSE PROPAGANDA , PRACTICAL MODELS

Propaganda work has been identified by the Thanh Binh District Party Committee as one of the breakthroughs. Since then, Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have constantly innovated propaganda forms, making them increasingly rich and closer to the people. From the broadcasting system, the team of reporters and propagandists at the grassroots level, to taking advantage of social networking channels such as Zalo, Facebook, along with panners, slogans, radio columns on learning from Uncle Ho... to reach a large number of cadres, party members and the masses. From 2016 to present, the district has organized more than 1,700 propaganda sessions, attracting tens of thousands of participants. Many key contents such as: preventing and combating moral degradation; building the working style of cadres; building the culture and people of Dong Thap... are cleverly and effectively integrated with major holidays and patriotic emulation movements.

From learning from Uncle Ho, many practical models, closely related to people's lives, have been born and replicated. Typical models include: Women's groups pooling capital to buy health insurance, helping poor women access health services; Creative women's start-up clubs, supporting women in developing household economies; Safe traffic routes, contributing to building civilized and safe new rural areas; "Green shirts accompanying digital transformation" model, supporting people to access and carry out online administrative procedures... In total, Thanh Binh district has effectively maintained more than 60 typical models, many of which have been highly appreciated by the province and recommended for replication.

Venerable Thich Minh Phuoc - Abbot of Long Son Pagoda (Tan Phu Commune), shared: “Learning from Uncle Ho is not something far away, but it is about keeping a pure heart and living well with the community. We maintain giving free vegetarian meals every month to people in difficult circumstances, giving scholarships to poor but studious students, coordinating with local authorities to support the construction of charity houses, visiting the lonely and sick. In addition, the pagoda also actively encourages followers to participate in protecting the environment, building a civilized and united lifestyle. All of these come from the desire to learn from Uncle Ho, do good deeds without expecting anything in return, and live a useful life for society.”

Over the past 10 years, the District Party Committee has honored more than 223 individuals and 143 groups as exemplary in studying and following Uncle Ho. With youthfulness, enthusiasm and pioneering spirit, union members and young people have been learning from Uncle Ho through practical, creative and close actions. Mr. Nguyen Minh Nguyen - Secretary of the Union of Tan My Secondary and High School, not only inspires beautiful living in each lecture, but also through his responsible, exemplary and dedicated working style for students. "Learning from Uncle Ho means learning from the smallest things. As Secretary of the school's Union, I always try to set an example in discipline, time and words. In the Union's activities, we incorporate learning from and following Uncle Ho into each program such as: Good deeds diary, A story about Uncle Ho every week, thematic activities, storytelling contests... Thereby, helping students understand more deeply about Uncle Ho's morality and style and have the motivation to train themselves from when they are still in school" - Mr. Nguyen shared.

10 years of studying and following Uncle Ho is a journey that marks a strong transformation of Thanh Binh district. Thereby, studying Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is no longer an abstract concept, but is truly present in every action, every model, every smile serving the people. That is also a solid premise for the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Binh district to continue to unite, strive, and build an increasingly developed, affectionate and civilized homeland.
