100% of residential areas organized the Great Unity Festival.

One of the requirements for organizing the 2024 National Unity Day in Bac Giang province is that it must be practical, have a strong ripple effect, deeply instill national solidarity and brotherhood, and help overcome natural disasters together.

Mr. Dinh Duc Canh, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, stated that Bac Giang suffered relatively significant damage from Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi). To promptly encourage and motivate all sectors of the population in the province to enthusiastically participate in labor and production to achieve the socio-economic development goals for 2024, and to practically celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and to celebrate the success of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029, the Bac Giang Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has guided and directed Fatherland Front committees at all levels and 100% of the Fatherland Front Working Committees in residential areas to organize the Great Unity Festival.

Through this event, the Fatherland Front at all levels and the Front Work Committees in residential areas clearly assess the results and commend outstanding collectives, families, and individuals in implementing the "National Unity for Building New Villages and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign, the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign, and the "Unity and Creativity" emulation movement; and reward self-governance models in villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods led by the Fatherland Front. In addition, activities such as visiting and giving gifts to poor households and those with particularly difficult circumstances, awarding "Great Unity" houses, and mobilizing support for the "For the Poor" Fund are also intensified, making the event even more vibrant and meaningful.

In residential areas, on the occasion of the festival, people renovated their houses, cleaned village roads and alleys, and decorated their neighborhoods to be clean and beautiful. Within the framework of the festival, many meaningful and practical activities took place, reflecting traditional values ​​such as: the "Building Culturally Advanced Families" movement; culturally advanced villages and residential areas; "Communes achieving the standards of new rural culture," "Wards and towns achieving the standards of urban civilization"; and lively and engaging cultural and artistic exchanges accompanied by drums and cheers. Through these activities, the socio-cultural environment has been improved, social vices have significantly decreased, and conflicts within families and residential areas have been largely resolved through grassroots mediation.

Mr. Dinh Duc Canh further stated that, with its diverse organizational forms, practical and vibrant activities, and significant meaning, the National Unity Day in Bac Giang province has attracted an increasing number of cadres, Party members, and people from all walks of life. Through this event, the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations are disseminated to the people, enabling them to discuss and participate directly. This has created conditions for promoting the people's direct right to self-governance. Every citizen can express their thoughts and aspirations, and contribute their opinions to building a cultured community.

"The National Unity Day in residential areas is also the richest and most accurate source of information from the community. It serves as a basis for Party committees and authorities to listen to the people's opinions and, from there, issue mechanisms and policies that are appropriate to the realities of people's lives," Mr. Canh emphasized.

In 2024, the Party Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Fatherland Front Committee directed and guided the Fatherland Front at all levels and the Front Work Committees to organize the National Unity Day in 100% of residential areas; encouraging residential areas to organize both the ceremonial and festive parts of the event. The Bac Giang Provincial Fatherland Front Committee invited provincial leaders to attend the Day in 16 residential areas. Districts, towns, and cities organized 225 delegations to participate in the Day in residential areas.
