This mountainous region has a long and distinctive history and culture, and a diverse system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, reflecting the culture, beliefs, customs, and practices of various ethnic groups. It is famous for its folk performing arts such as Cham Duong, Cap Sac, Tet Nhay, Pao Dung, gong music, Moi dance, the rice planting festival, and the new rice offering ceremony of the Muong people…

Using funds from the National Target Program and the district budget, during the period 2020-2024, Tan Son spent tens of billions of VND on building cultural and sports facilities to serve ethnic minority communities. This included constructing 29 new cultural centers, purchasing equipment for 60 existing cultural centers, supporting training and purchasing equipment and performance costumes for nearly 70 traditional performing arts groups; supporting outstanding ethnic minority artisans; and opening 6 classes to teach cultural heritage to their successors. The goal is to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, creating momentum for sustainable socio-economic development.
