The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment attends the National Unity Day celebration in Yen Bai.

To celebrate the National Unity Day with the local people, this morning (November 17th), Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy joined the locals in participating in many traditional folk games.

The joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere celebrating the Great Unity Day of the ethnic minority people in Hamlet 3, Minh Quan Commune, Tran Yen District ( Yen Bai Province) this morning (November 17th) became even more lively when Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy, Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan, and other provincial leaders participated in bamboo pole dancing and tug-of-war amidst enthusiastic applause.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy and the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province, along with a delegation of provincial officials and leaders of Tran Yen district, participated in some folk games and traditional cultural and sports performances of the local people.

Village 3 in Minh Quan commune has 152 households with 592 inhabitants, comprising 6 ethnic groups. They consistently uphold the tradition of unity and creativity, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, and unanimously implement socio -economic development tasks, building and strengthening the great national unity.

The village's Front Committee always prioritizes the principle and motto "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, and the people benefit"; mobilizing the people to actively participate in labor and production emulation, poverty alleviation; building sanitary facilities, treating wastewater in livestock farming and production; using clean water; improving sanitation, landscape, environment, village roads and alleys; planting and caring for flowerbeds along roads to create a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environment.

Minister Do Duc Duy and other provincial leaders visited the booth showcasing OCOP products from Tran Yen district.

In 2024, the village mobilized residents to build 800 meters of concrete road from the main village road to the hamlets; maintained 7 kilometers of street lighting, installed and operated with funds contributed by the people; and cared for 4 flower-lined roads with a total length of 2.5 kilometers. The self-governing groups in the village consistently uphold the spirit of self-management in security and order, voluntarily and conscientiously working on environmental sanitation, sorting, collecting, and processing household waste at the source so that the village roads and alleys are always bright, green, clean, and beautiful. The village no longer has any poor or near-poor households.

Presenting gifts to disadvantaged families and exemplary families in the national unity movement in 2024.

According to the assessment, 100% of the grassroots organizations excellently completed their tasks, with 5 out of 6 self-governing groups excellently completing their tasks in 2024; 147 out of 152 households were evaluated, achieving 96.7% of households as culturally exemplary families, learning families, and happy families. In the village, 12 households voluntarily donated over 2,000 m2 of land, notably Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga's household donating 243 m2, Mr. Nguyen Trung Lap's household donating 250 m2, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Lang's household donating 652 m2 for the construction of public works and rural roads.

Minister Do Duc Duy was very pleased to witness the transformation of the commune and villages, and the achievements they have made in recent times. The Minister affirmed that this is the result of continuous efforts to develop the local economy and society; it is the fruit of the spirit of solidarity and the joint efforts of each citizen towards the highest goal of making villages and hamlets more beautiful, the environment cleaner, and lives peaceful, prosperous, and happy.

The people enthusiastically participated in the festival.

The Minister requested that authorities at all levels in Yen Bai province continue to pay attention to and effectively promote patriotic emulation movements and campaigns; focus on promoting the role of the Fatherland Front Committee; promptly encourage and motivate advanced models, outstanding collectives and individuals; promote democracy, listen to the opinions, thoughts and aspirations of the people, take care of the activities of the Fatherland Front, Party committees and authorities at all levels, continue to take many concrete and practical actions to share, support and help people facing difficulties in life, develop equally, and ensure that no one is left behind.

The comrade expressed his wish that the people, having already united, should unite even more, "having already made determination, should be even more determined," and "having already made efforts, should make even greater efforts" to work together to build and develop Minh Quan, Tran Yen, Yen Bai province into an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
