Students from Gia Lai win gold medal at the International Informatics Olympiad and are awarded the Second Class Labor Medal.

On December 13th, Mr. Huynh Le Minh, Principal of Le Quy Don Specialized High School in Gia Lai province, announced that Le Kien Thanh, a 12th-grade student majoring in Informatics, was honored with the Second Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam for his outstanding achievements in winning a Gold Medal at the 2025 International Informatics Olympiad and a Silver Medal at the 2025 Asian Informatics Olympiad.

Along with Le Kien Thanh himself, Le Quy Don Specialized High School and his homeroom teacher also received commendations from the Ministry of Education and Training for their contributions to the training and nurturing of gifted students.

According to teacher Huynh Le Minh, Le Kien Thanh is one of the school's outstanding students, possessing comprehensive academic achievements. Throughout his three years of high school, he consistently achieved excellent academic results, excelling not only in Computer Science but also in other subjects, and simultaneously achieving an IELTS score of 8.0.

Besides his academic achievements, Le Kien Thanh is also active in youth movements, having received the title of "Excellent Student" at the provincial level in the 2022-2023 school year, the Ngo May Award in 2023, and the title of "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" at the central level for the 2023-2025 period.

Sharing about his achievements, Le Kien Thanh said,   I will never forget the feeling of nervousness when facing difficult exam questions at the International Olympiads, but the support and encouragement from my teachers, family, and friends helped me gain more confidence to shine.

"This achievement gives me the belief that no effort is in vain, and I hope these medals will inspire young people to dare to dream and pursue their passions," Thành said.

Previously, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to commend and award 100 million VND to recognize and praise the exceptionally outstanding achievements of Le Kien Thanh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that Le Kien Thanh's achievement is not only a source of pride for himself, his family, and his school, but also for the entire province.

Provincial leaders pledged to continue paying attention to and investing in advanced education, discovering and nurturing young talents, thereby spreading the spirit of learning and the aspiration to contribute among students.
