Following the preliminary round, which involved 36 teams from 21 universities, academies, and technical colleges nationwide, the organizing committee selected 16 teams to advance to the final round.
Many successful teams continue to participate, such as Lac Hong University ( Dong Nai ), Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, and Sao Do University (Hai Duong). Notably, Saigon Polytechnic College - one of the three newcomers this season - also qualified for the Finals.
Direct confrontations are expected to be highly competitive as the strongest teams compete against each other.
According to the broadcast schedule, the opening ceremony and the first matches will be televised live at 8 PM on May 29th on VTV2. Subsequent matches will take place on the evening of May 30th, while the final and awards ceremony will be broadcast at 8 PM on May 31st.
Robocon Vietnam 2026, themed "Martial Arts Warrior," requires robots to possess flexible movement, precise operation, and effective coordination on the competition field. Teams must not only compete in speed to complete tasks but also ensure the stability of their robots as they navigate various competition zones.
To meet this requirement, the students spent a significant amount of time researching, from mechanical design and material selection to optimizing control algorithms, in order to create robots with the best performance.
2026 also marks the 24th anniversary of Vietnam Television's organization of the Robocon competition. Over many seasons, this competition has become a familiar technological practice environment for engineering students nationwide. From simple mechanisms like wheels, grabbers, and sensors, teams have gradually progressed to complex automation systems, combining mechanics, electronics, software, and control theory.
As part of this year's competition, the workshop "AI and Automation Applications – From the Playground to Production Reality" also attracted more than 200 students and many robotics and automation experts.
