17 years accompanying the young generation of Vietnam

The SCG Sharing The Dream 2024 Scholarship Award Ceremony in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City recently honored 200 outstanding students with a total scholarship value of up to 3 billion VND. Over the past 17 years, the program has not only provided financial support, but also encouraged the young generation to pursue sustainable values. The program focuses on developing sustainable thinking, leadership skills and inspiring the spirit of dedication to the community, creating a solid foundation for the future of young people.

Up to now, SCG has awarded more than 5,600 scholarships , totaling 40 billion VND , organized more than 100 training sessions , 50 business connection sessions , accompanied 16 creative projects of students and supported 20 young talents to shine in international playgrounds .

SCG's spirit of Skill Up for Life - Strong capacity, bright future is strongly demonstrated through the ESG strategy (Environment, Society and Transparent Governance) integrated throughout the scholarship program. This is not simply a financial scholarship but also a journey to help students better understand their role in creating a sustainable future. Through a series of diverse ESG practice activities, students have the opportunity to develop sustainable thinking. Over the years, SCG has organized many soft skills courses, factory tours, as well as specialized seminars to equip comprehensive knowledge.

In 2024, the program continued to achieve resounding success with outstanding initiatives and milestones:

ESG Ambassador Competition - ESG Ambassador 2024: Participating students presented their environmental protection initiatives to ASEAN experts at the ESG Symposium 2024 held in Thailand. The two winning projects, "Obstacle Warning Device for the Blind" by Team B-Wings and "Enzyme from Organic Waste" by Team Garbage Enzyme, are testaments to the creativity and strong sense of community of the young generation of Vietnam. This is not only an opportunity for them to broaden their horizons but also affirms the pioneering role of the young generation of Vietnam in promoting sustainable development.

Factory tour : Students get hands-on experience at SCG member companies in Vinh Phuc, Binh Duong and Long An , thereby understanding the ESG strategy applied practically in the production and business operations of an enterprise.

ESG Camp - meaningful outdoor activities: Many activities to clean the environment and learn “green” knowledge were carried out, helping students gain a deeper awareness of their impact on society.

One of SCG's strategic initiatives in 2024 is the Skill Up for Life program - Strong capacity, bright future , with the goal of reducing social inequality through education and skill improvement. With Sharing The Dream, SCG does not only stop at awarding scholarships but also accompanies students through training camps such as ESG Camps and seminars, helping participants improve their knowledge and arouse their sense of dedication to the community.

Mr. Praween Wirotpan , Deputy Country Director of SCG in Vietnam, shared: “We believe that education is not only the most sustainable way to reduce inequality, but also the foundation for each individual to shape their own future.”

The success of the SCG Sharing The Dream program also comes from the close cooperation with organizations such as the Central Council of Young Pioneers, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center (SAC). Thanks to this cooperation, the program not only expanded in scale but also spread a meaningful message about social responsibility and sustainable development.
