172 villages in areas with favorable economic conditions

The Center for Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation of Quang Tri province has just inspected and reviewed areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions in the area that are lacking fresh water and clean water. According to records, by 2024, the whole province still has 172 villages in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions that are lacking fresh water and clean water to serve the daily life, production and business needs of the people.

Previously, following the direction of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial Center for Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation received information and compiled a list from the People's Committees of Huong Hoa, Dakrong, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh districts and Con Co island district reporting the shortage of fresh water and clean water. Currently, all 5 localities mentioned above still have areas lacking fresh water and clean water. In particular, Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts are the two localities with the most difficult villages lacking fresh water and clean water.

Specifically, up to now, the whole Huong Hoa district still has 94 villages in 14 communes in region III; 5 extremely difficult villages in 4 communes including: Tan Hop, Tan Lap, Tan Long, Tan Thanh and Khe Sanh town are lacking fresh water and clean water.

Dakrong district has 56 villages in areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions lacking fresh water and clean water, including 55 villages in 10 communes in region III and 1 extremely difficult village in Ba Long commune.

Gio Linh district has 9 villages in Linh Truong commune, a commune in area III, lacking fresh water and clean water. Vinh Linh district has 6 villages in 2 communes in area II and 2 extremely difficult villages in Vinh Ha commune lacking fresh water and clean water. On Con Co island, the problem of fresh water and clean water is still a concern for the people.

The lack of fresh water and clean water for daily use has greatly affected people's lives. People hope that relevant levels, sectors, organizations and projects will pay attention and support to solve this difficulty.
