30 must-visit destinations in 2025

Cameroon is the number one country tourists must visit in 2025, but if you want to visit any city, Toulouse in France is the first suggestion.

In the book Best In Travel 2025 Newly released, the Lonely Planet world travel guide lists 30 must-visit destinations for travelers next year, evenly divided into three categories: countries, regions, and cities. Senior manager Nitya Chambers stated: Best in Travel 2025 This is the latest edition of Lonely Planet's annual "love letter" to the world.

The rankings are compiled by leading experts from around the world, who possess expertise and in-depth knowledge of each location. The criteria for selecting destinations are based on relevance, unique experiences, impactful elements, and the destination's commitment to sustainability, community development, and diversity.

In Top 10 countries Expected to arrive in 2025, Lonely Planet highly rated Cameroon and topped its list. This West African nation impressed with its pristine beaches, uncrowded national parks, and vibrant nightlife in its major cities.

Lithuania ranks second thanks to its charming medieval cities, lush pine forests, lakes, and unspoiled beaches. Fiji comes in third, boasting over 300 palm-fringed islands, each a symphony of turquoise waters, diverse coral reefs, and fine white sand beaches. Laos ranks fourth, thanks to its verdant landscapes, unexplored mountains, and many beautiful ancient towns, connected by a new high-speed rail line spanning over 1,000 km with a final stop in Yunnan, China.

Toulouse ranked first in Top 10 cities Thanks to its "rapidly developing art scene and the freedom to wander along the riverbanks," Puducherry, overlooking the Bay of Bengal in India, came in second. Experts consider it a top destination for sand and surfing enthusiasts. The Bulgarian mountain city of Bansko ranked third, renowned as one of Europe's leading ski resorts and boasting a UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town. Fourth and fifth place went to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand and Genoa, Italy.

In the top 10 must-visit regions in the world in 2025, the Low Country & Coastal Georgia region of South Carolina, USA, takes the top spot. Traveling through this area, visitors will encounter golden beaches, windswept wetlands, and quaint towns that seem untouched by time. Second place goes to the Terai region of Nepal, with its lush green forests, grasslands, and wetlands – a biodiversity hotspot. Third is Chiriqui, Panama, followed by Launceston & the Tamar Valley in Tasmania, Australia, and Valais, Switzerland.
