410 children were examined and screened for free

On June 29, An Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Cardiovascular and Congenital Heart Association organized free screening and examination for congenital heart defects for 410 children in An Giang province.

Echocardiographers screen children for congenital heart disease

A team of doctors in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Dr. Do Nguyen Tin, Head of the Cardiovascular Intervention Unit - Children's Hospital 1 (Ho Chi Minh City), examined and screened newborns with signs of suspected congenital heart disease. Thereby, 30 cases of children with congenital heart defects requiring intervention and surgery were detected and monitored.

The children have been listed and classified, then taken to major hospitals for treatment; difficult cases will be supported with free heart surgery.
