President Luong Cuong this morning presented the decision to promote from Senior Lieutenant General to General to Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

General Trinh Van Quyet was born in 1966; his professional qualifications are Bachelor of Party Building and State Agencies. He has many years of working in Military Region 2. In April 2021, he was appointed Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics.

The President also presented decisions to promote the ranks from Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General to members of the Party Central Committee and members of the Central Military Commission, including three Deputy Ministers of National Defense Nguyen Hong Thai, Nguyen Van Hien and Nguyen Truong Thang, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Quang Ngoc.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai was born in 1969 and has a bachelor's degree in Military. He has held the following positions: Commander of Phu Tho Provincial Military Command, Deputy Commander of Military Region 2, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 2, Commander of Hanoi Capital Command. He was appointed Deputy Minister of National Defense last April.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien was born in 1967; his professional qualification is Bachelor of Military Science. He has many years of experience working in units of the Air Defense - Air Force, holding the positions of: Commander of the 365th Air Defense Division, Deputy Commander of the Service, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Service, Commander of the Service. He was appointed Deputy Minister of National Defense last June.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang was born in 1970; his professional qualification is a bachelor of military science. He has worked for many years in units of Military Region 7. In October 2018, he held the position of Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command. In 2020, he held the position of Deputy Commander and then Commander of Military Region 7. He was appointed Deputy Minister of National Defense last June.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc was born in 1968; his professional qualification is Bachelor of Military Science, majoring in Command and Staff, Combined Arms. He has worked for many years in Military Region 3 in the positions of Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military Region, Commander of the Military Region. In January 2025, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
