Preliminary information indicates that from 6:30 AM on April 29th to 12:00 AM on May 1st, Huong Hoa Regional General Hospital received 46 patients with symptoms such as high fever, frequent diarrhea, vomiting, intermittent abdominal cramps, fatigue, and signs of dehydration. The majority of patients were 11-15 years old, with the youngest being 50 months old and the oldest 46 years old.
Before experiencing the aforementioned symptoms, all patients had eaten bread from a bakery in Tan Son village (Tan Lap commune).
Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc, Director of Huong Hoa Regional General Hospital, said that upon receiving the patients, the unit administered intravenous fluids, oral rehydration, antibiotics, intensive treatment, and close monitoring. Currently, the patients' health is temporarily stable, and none are in critical condition.
According to Ms. Ho Thi Thuy Vinh, Chairwoman of the Tan Lap Commune People's Committee, the majority of patients are students from Huong Loc Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School, residing in Ra Ty, Pa Xia, Cua villages, and some residents of Tan Son and Tan Tai villages (Tan Lap commune).
Authorities are currently investigating to determine the cause.
