“The great victory in the spring of 1975 is an immortal heroic epic, the greatest feat in the glorious history of building and defending the country of our people under the wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh. That victory ended more than 100 years of colonialism and imperialism,” said Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee at the meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification on April 26.
The performance welcomed the meeting with songs and dances praising the heroic tradition of the Vietnamese revolution that created the great victory of spring 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.

Although it is a remote, difficult and deprived land, the Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau have always followed the Party with all their heart. During the years of resistance, Ca Mau, together with the people of the South and the people of the whole country, fought bravely and achieved many resounding victories. Ca Mau has become a solid base of the Southern revolution, a place where many high-ranking leaders of the Party and the State have stood and operated. Overcoming countless difficulties and losses, the people of Ca Mau have contributed a lot of human and material resources to serve the revolution: more than 17,000 soldiers have sacrificed; more than 16,000 wounded soldiers have left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield; more than 2,500 heroic Vietnamese mothers have said goodbye to their loved ones; tens of thousands of families have rendered great service to the country. All of those sacrifices, losses and great contributions were for a common ideal and aspiration: "Fight to drive out the Americans, fight to overthrow the puppet regime", liberate the South, and unify the country.

The province's economy has continuously developed over the years, the average income per capita has been among the top in the region (nearly 73 million VND), the poverty rate is below 1%, the economic - social infrastructure is increasingly spacious and modern, 100% of commune centers can be reached by car, many key traffic routes are connected, breaking the monopoly; Airports and seaports are being invested in; social security is increasingly ensured; people's material and spiritual lives are increasingly improved.
