At the invitation of the Ministryof Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education and Training has asked the Institute of Mathematics (under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) to form a delegation of students to participate in the 2nd Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad. The competition will take place from April 21 to 26 in the capital Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The Institute of Mathematics has formed a team of students to participate in the competition, including 6 students ranked from 7th to 12th in the Olympic team selection exam. These students are not in the official team to participate in the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad held in Australia.

As a result, all 6 participating students won Gold Medals, including: Nguyen Tri Hau (grade 11, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province); Nguyen Tri Hien (grade 11, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province); Nguyen Phuc Nguyen (grade 11, Newton Secondary and High School, Hanoi); Tran Quang Nhat (grade 12, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang); Lai Gia Khai (grade 11, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education); Vu Viet Ha (grade 12, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Hai Duong).
The Turkmenistan International Mathematical Olympiad is an international event hosted by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The competition aims to nurture students' talents and abilities, strengthen friendship, develop progressive thinking and open-mindedness among young people.
The exam consists of 5 problems, each worth 10 points, to be completed in 5 hours. According to the regulations of the organizing committee, prizes will be awarded to 50% of the participating candidates, with the ratio of Gold: Silver: Bronze medals being 1: 2: 3.
