On the afternoon of August 26, in Hanoi , the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025) held the opening ceremony of the Press Center for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

According to the Steering Committee, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day is a particularly important political event on a national scale.
The event was organized by the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi city.
In particular, the parade and marching activities during the Anniversary are the focus of great public attention. Accordingly, the Central Government assigned the Ministry of National Defense to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi City and relevant departments, ministries, branches, agencies and units to organize the implementation.
The national celebration will take place at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025 at Ba Dinh Square (broadcast live on Vietnam Television, local television stations, social media platforms, etc.).

Regarding organization and forces, the Steering Committee said that as of August 26, there were 6 forces participating in the parade, including: Traditional torch bearer force and Fire Guard; Ceremonial Artillery force; Air Force flying salute; Parade and marching forces: 4 Honorary units; 43 units representing the people's armed forces (26 Army units, 17 Police units); foreign military units (expected 4 units), including: China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia (arrived in Vietnam: Cambodia August 15, Laos August 16, Russia August 20, China is expected to arrive in Vietnam August 27); Military vehicles, artillery, special police vehicles; Parade force at sea; 12 mass parade units; 1 Culture and Sports unit.
The standing forces include: the Honor Guard and 29 standing blocks (18 armed force blocks standing opposite stand A; 11 mass blocks standing on both sides of the new armed force blocks added from August 21); and the force forming shapes and letters.
The parade program includes: Traditional torch procession; Ceremonial artillery firing; Air Force salute; Parade, march of the blocks, in order: Parade of the Honor Block; Parade of the walking blocks (order: Vietnam People's Army blocks, foreign army blocks, Militia and Self-Defense Force; Police blocks); Parade of military vehicles and artillery; special police vehicles; Parade of armed forces at sea (transmitting images to Ba Dinh); Parade of the masses; Parade of the Culture and Sports Block.
State-level preliminary rehearsal: From 20 to 27 August; State-level general rehearsal: From 6:30 a.m. on August 30. Official ceremony: From 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025 at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi.
