The water supply sector's repairs and maintenance of the Hoa Phu pumping station and Tan Hiep plant resulted in water cuts for tens of thousands of households in nine districts of the city over the weekend.
Water was cut off for 8 hours, from 9 PM on November 18th to 5 AM on November 19th. Specifically, 15 communes and towns in Binh Chanh District were completely cut off, including: Tan Tuc town, Vinh Loc A, Vinh Loc B, Pham Van Hai, Binh Loi, Le Minh Xuan, Tan Kien, Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh, An Phu Tay, Tan Quy Tay, Hung Long, Phong Phu, and Binh Hung communes. District 8 included wards 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, and 16.

In addition to the areas mentioned above, the entire Hoc Mon District and Binh Tan District will experience weak water pressure during the maintenance period.
District 12 comprises the following wards: Tan Thoi Nhat, Tan Hung Thuan, Dong Hung Thuan, Trung My Tay, Tan Chanh Hiep, Tan Thoi Hiep, Hiep Thanh, Thoi An, and Thanh Xuan.
Other areas also experiencing low water pressure include: Go Vap District (wards 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16), Tan Phu District (Tay Thanh, Son Ky, Tan Son Nhi, Tan Quy, Tan Thanh, Phu Tho Hoa, Phu Thanh , Hoa Thanh, Hiep Tan, Tan Thoi Hoa wards), Tan Binh District (wards 12, 13, 14, 15), and District 6 (wards 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14).
Saigon Water Supply Corporation (Sawaco) stated that when the water supply system resumes operation, some areas far from the source may recover more slowly than expected. The company will regulate the water supply network and increase water delivery by tanker trucks to key affected areas.
