Action for a green future

With the top goal of sustainable development, Acecook Vietnam has taken an important step in minimizing the environmental impact of its products.

Since last June, Acecook Vietnam has switched all plastic cup packaging of its Modern cup noodles to paper cups. This move not only contributes to significantly reducing the amount of plastic used in production but also minimizes plastic waste in the environment, while still ensuring quality and food safety standards. More importantly, Acecook Vietnam maintains the product price, which not only meets consumers' expectations but also strengthens trust in the brand.

Previously, Acecook Vietnam has also completed the packaging conversion for other product lines such as To Nho, Caykay cup noodles, Zeppin cup noodles and is planning to convert for Handy Hao Hao cup noodles in the near future.

In addition to converting packaging, Acecook Vietnam also replaced plastic forks with bioplastic. Accordingly, forks with 49% bio-based content, certified as originating from bio-based materials (OK Biobased level 2 stars) by TUV Austria (Europe) have been put into use in To Nho noodle products since July 2024 and are expected to be completed for the remaining products by the end of 2024.

Applying clean energy in production, towards a sustainable future

To protect the environment and contribute to creating sustainable instant noodle products, in addition to the goal of reducing plastic, Acecook Vietnam also aims to increase the rate of clean energy at manufacturing plants.

In the instant noodle production process, the boiler is a device that generates hot steam for the production process. Since 2021, Acecook Vietnam has installed a boiler system using liquefied petroleum gas as fuel, all imported from Japan, at a number of factories to help reduce emissions into the environment. Compared to coal-fired boilers, the CO2 content of the gas-fired boiler system is reduced by about 43%, also helping to reduce NOx (nitrogen oxide) by about 70% and does not produce SO2 (sulfur oxide), thus minimizing emissions. From 2023 onwards, the company will gradually replace coal-fired boilers with Biomass (biomass fuel) boilers for the remaining factories with the goal of completing the conversion to clean fuel in boiler equipment at all factories by 2025.

In addition, Acecook Vietnam also uses “green energy” from the solar power system to produce instant noodles. The rooftop solar power system is installed at the main office building and factory in Ho Chi Minh City, which can provide an average output of about 900,000 kWh/year. This amount of electricity is equivalent to the amount of electricity used to produce about 3.6 million packages of Hao Hao noodles. In addition to serving production, the electricity generated is also used for the operations of the company's main office building in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City, with 05 floors and nearly 400 employees working.

In addition to cost-effectiveness, the use of environmentally friendly green energy from the sun also helps reduce CO2 emissions caused by the greenhouse effect. This green energy system is also put into use at the new Vinh Long factory that just started construction in March 2024.

Affirming commitment to community and environment

With continuous efforts, Acecook Vietnam is gradually realizing the goal of economic development associated with environmental protection and sustainable development. The company continues to expand specific actions to affirm its role and responsibility towards the community and the environment. Acecook always upholds the business philosophy of "Happy Consumers, Happy Society, Happy Employees" and commits to continue to be a responsible enterprise, making positive contributions to society and the environment.

With strong and creative steps in environmental protection, Acecook Vietnam not only brings benefits to consumers but also creates sustainable values for the community and the green planet.Top of FormBottom of Form
