At the ceremony, the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc announced the Decision to approve Mr. Vu The Phiet - Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam Airports Corporation, term 2020-2025.
The ACV Board of Directors also unanimously elected Mr. Vu The Phiet to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises congratulated the new Chairman of ACV Board of Directors Vu The Phiet.
Mr. Vu The Phiet was born in 1973, has a Master's degree in Business Administration, and has worked in the Vietnamese aviation industry since 1995. Mr. Vu The Phiet has held positions such as Director of Noi Bai International Airport (2012-2017), Deputy General Director of ACV (2017-2018) and General Director of ACV since August 2018.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Vu The Phiet pledged to successfully implement ACV's production and business strategies, as well as complete key national projects such as Passenger Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat International Airport, especially the Long Thanh International Airport construction project in accordance with legal regulations, on schedule, aesthetics and construction quality...
Also at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Long Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, presented the 30-year Party membership badge to Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh, former Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACV. Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh was also given a decision to retire from the regime from September 1.
As a joint stock company operating under the parent company - subsidiary model with 95.4% state capital, ACV currently manages, invests in, and operates a system of 22 airports nationwide. Of these, there are 10 international airports.
In 2023, the total number of passengers passing through ACV-affiliated airports will reach 113.5 million, an increase of 15% compared to 2022, of which international passengers will reach 32.6 million, an increase of 173% compared to 2022.
Total cargo and parcels throughput reached 1,207 thousand tons. Total take-offs and landings reached 710 thousand flights.
Currently, ACV is the investor of key projects such as the T3 Terminal Construction Project - Tan Son Nhat International Airport; Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project... with progress and quality guaranteed according to the direction of the Prime Minister .
