Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pays tribute to senior leaders and meritorious people in Quang Tri and Hue

On the morning of July 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation visited cemeteries, offered incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, former leaders of the Party and State, and visited Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Quang Tri province and Hue city.

Offering incense and flowers at Quang Tri Citadel, in an emotional atmosphere, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate and pay tribute to the great contributions of the heroes and martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives during the 81-day and night campaign to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri town, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for a peaceful, happy and prosperous life for the people.

During our people's resistance war against the US to save the country, Quang Tri Citadel has recorded in the history of the nation a shining golden milestone of revolutionary heroism through the heroic and resilient fight to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri town during 81 historic days and nights, the fiery summer of 1972 of our army and people, contributing significantly to the victory at the negotiating table to reach the Paris Agreement in 1973, creating momentum for our army and people to launch a stormy, lightning-fast attack to create the great victory of the historic Spring of 1975, completely liberating the South, and unifying the country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation vowed to unite, strive, and contribute to the country and people; to be worthy of the sacrifices of heroes, martyrs, and previous generations; and to contribute to bringing the country into a new era - an era of national prosperity, civilization, and prosperity.

* Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery - the eternal resting place of more than 10,800 heroic martyrs from across the country who fought, served in combat and heroically sacrificed on the Road 9 Front, the Quang Tri battlefield and the neighboring country of Laos during the resistance war against the US to save the country and gain national independence.

Before the souls of heroes and martyrs, with utmost respect, gratitude, deep gratitude and sacred responsibility and duty to the excellent children who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation vow to continue to strive, unite, make efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully complete all assigned tasks.

The Prime Minister and the delegation offered incense at the memorial site of late General Secretary Le Duan in Trieu Phong commune, Quang Tri province, expressing deep gratitude and appreciation for the great contributions of General Secretary Le Duan (1907-1986) to the cause of national liberation, unification and construction.

The life and activities of General Secretary Le Duan are a shining example of striving and sacrificing for national independence and socialism, for the communist ideal. During nearly 60 years of revolutionary activities, he devoted his whole life to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and leading the whole country to socialism.

In particular, during his 15 years as General Secretary (1960-1975), in the context of many difficulties and challenges for the country, General Secretary Le Duan, together with President Ho Chi Minh and the Party Central Committee, led our army and people to defeat the new-style colonial imperialists, the American invaders and their lackeys, liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Signing the memorial book, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his gratitude to the late General Secretary Le Duan - the beloved son of the Party Committee, government, army and people of heroic Quang Tri; the outstanding student of President Ho Chi Minh - the great national hero, world cultural celebrity who devoted his whole life to the people, country and socialist Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited Vietnamese Heroic Mother Dao Thi Vui, 102 years old, whose husband and only child are martyrs; currently living in Thuong Xa village, Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province.

With respect and best wishes to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Dao Thi Vui and with deep gratitude, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and people always remember and deeply appreciate the great contributions and sacrifices of those who have rendered meritorious services.

The Prime Minister hopes that mother Dao Thi Vui will take care of her health; continue to encourage her children and grandchildren, educate the younger generation about the dedication and sacrifice of previous generations, constantly promote the tradition of deep patriotism, heroic revolution, steadfast and indomitable spirit; well implement the policies and laws of the Party and State, and contribute more to the homeland and the country.

Offering incense at General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum in Hue city

Earlier, on the same morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation offered incense at the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum in Hue City, to commemorate and pay tribute to the great contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh - an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh to the revolutionary cause of the Party, State and people.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh (1914 - 1967) was a staunch and exemplary communist soldier, an outstanding son of the Vietnamese people. The General's name is associated with turning points of the Vietnamese revolution, especially his important contributions to building and strengthening the determination to fight and defeat the American invaders.

Respectfully before the spirit of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation vow to strive to study and practice following the moral example and revolutionary spirit of the General; to excellently continue the glorious revolutionary cause - the priceless legacy of predecessors and generations of fathers and brothers; to unite, be creative and most effectively carry out assigned tasks; and to make every effort to build the country to become increasingly prosperous, beautiful and civilized.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visits and presents gifts to families of meritorious people in Hue

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of martyrs and wounded soldiers in Hue city.

Visiting the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1926, residing in Thuan Hoa ward), former Head of Accounting Department of Thua Thien Bank, Chief Inspector of Binh Tri Thien Bank; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his great gratitude for Mr. Tien's contributions and sacrifices during the resistance war against the US to save the country up to now, and at the same time sent his best wishes for his health, hoping that he will continue to be a shining example for his descendants to follow, building a prosperous and happy country.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tien is a veteran revolutionary, a resistance activist who was imprisoned and exiled by the enemy when participating in the patriotic struggle movement of students in 1949. He was honored to be awarded the First Class Anti-American Resistance Medal by the State and the title of National Emulation Fighter in 1962 and 1980 to 1985.

In response to the Deputy Prime Minister's greetings, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien shared his happiness, excitement and honor at receiving the attention and encouragement of the Party, the State and the leaders of Hue City on major annual holidays. This is a great source of encouragement for him to continue to set an example and educate his children and grandchildren to preserve the tradition of patriotism.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son also visited the families of people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs: Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan (residing in Kim Long ward) is an 81% disabled soldier, participated in the December 1964 revolution and has a son, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Hai, who died in a rescue operation at Rao Trang 2 Hydropower Plant in 2020; disabled soldier Le Thi Nhan (born in 1951) participated in the resistance war, was infected with toxic chemicals and is the child of a martyr; disabled soldier Nguyen Thi Chuyen (born in 1948) participated in the resistance war and was imprisoned and exiled by the enemy, with a family with a revolutionary tradition of 4 martyrs, a Heroic Vietnamese Mother; disabled soldier Le Xuan Toan (born in 1950) participated in the resistance war and was imprisoned and exiled by the enemy.

On behalf of the Party and State, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented gifts from the Government and the Deputy Prime Minister to the families of the above meritorious people.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan visited and presented gifts to policy families in Dong Thap province.

On the same day, Mr. Le Minh Hoan, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, together with the Central Working Delegation and leaders of Dong Thap province, visited and presented gifts to 5 typical policy families in Trung An ward, Dong Thap province, including the families of Mr. Le Van Luong - 4/4 war invalid; Mr. Tran Ngoc Van - 2/4 war invalid, in Ward 9; Mrs. Pham Thi Hanh - wife of a martyr; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hai - wife of a martyr; Mrs. Le Thi Be - wife of a martyr in Ward 8.

At the policy families, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan and Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong kindly asked about their lives and wished them good health.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly acknowledged and commended the sacrifices and contributions of the families to their homeland and country; and presented each family with a gift.
