The event brought together leaders of the World Organic Federation, IFOAM-Organics Asia, the German Organic Agriculture Association (Naturland), and representatives of many organizations and agricultural management agencies from China, Japan, the Philippines, India... This is the first time Vietnam has hosted an important international event on organic agriculture.
Organic Asia Congress (OAC) is an international event held on a rotational basis among countries to promote sustainable agricultural development, especially organic agriculture (from 2012 to 2024).
The 8th conference held in Ninh Binh this time is an event of special significance in promoting the image of Vietnamese culture, people and agriculture to the world , promoting green investment and knowledge exchange in the process of transforming agriculture towards an environmentally friendly direction.
The sessions at the 8th Asian Organic Conference will discuss and share research and innovations in environmental protection, improving the quality of life and building sustainable agriculture. Many contents on policies, markets, and organic practices related to agriculture in general and organic agriculture in particular will take place over 3 days (from September 17 to September 19).

In his opening speech, Mr. Matthew John, President of the Asian Organic Association (AOAA), emphasized that organic agriculture is not only an inevitable trend but also a fundamental solution to global issues of food safety, public health and environmental protection. He highly appreciated Vietnam's remarkable progress in developing organic agriculture, acknowledging the attention and support of the Government, localities and the business community in building a clean agricultural value chain.

Speaking as the local representative hosting the 8th conference, Mr. Tran Anh Dung, Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the province's initial successful steps in developing organic agriculture, with many high-quality production models that have been implemented, showing the potential for sustainable development.

Continuing the program, the conference entered into in-depth discussion sessions. Many presentations focused on analyzing key issues such as product standardization, building certification systems, traceability and applying technology in production and processing.
International experiences and successful models in the region were shared, providing practical suggestions for Vietnamese farmers, cooperatives and businesses on the journey to develop sustainable organic agriculture.

At the conference, the role of financial institutions in accompanying the development of organic agriculture was particularly emphasized. In particular, Agribank - the leading commercial bank in the field of "agriculture" - contributed an important speech.
Agribank representative said the bank is implementing many preferential and specialized credit packages for clean and organic agriculture, to support farmers and cooperatives throughout the value chain.
Not only providing capital, Agribank also promotes digital transformation in rural banking services, helping people easily access capital sources, make electronic payments, and reduce costs and transaction times.
This is considered a strategic step, affirming Agribank's long-term companionship role in supporting localities and farmers to improve production and business efficiency.
“The bank not only joins hands to develop organic agriculture but also continues to pioneer in implementing ESG (environment, society and governance) commitments, accompanying the Government and localities in the green growth strategy, towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050,” said an Agribank representative.
