Mr. Bui Van Khang was elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province.

On September 22, the People's Council of Quang Ninh province held its 31st session to decide on a number of issues related to personnel work. Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province, chaired the session.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance; Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council dismissed Mr. Pham Duc An from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to take on a new job. At the same time, the Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Bui Van Khang as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, with 56/56 votes in favor.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Bui Van Khang expressed his gratitude for the trust of the Provincial People's Council delegates, considering this a great source of encouragement to fulfill his new responsibilities. He affirmed that he will make efforts with the leadership of the Provincial People's Committee to effectively implement resolutions, build a transparent, disciplined, effective government and serve the people better.

Mr. Khang said the province will focus on improving the investment environment, developing high-tech industry, border gate economy , seaports, logistics; linking culture and tourism with trade and services; developing agriculture, forestry and fisheries associated with processing industry to increase added value.

Closing the session, Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh emphasized that the Provincial People's Council had strictly implemented the process of dismissing and electing the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with regulations. She expressed her belief that Mr. Bui Van Khang would promote his capacity and sense of responsibility to meet the expectations of voters and people.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also requested relevant agencies to urgently complete the procedures for approving the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time called on officials, people and businesses in the province to unite, innovate and strive to achieve the GRDP growth target of over 14% in 2025.

Earlier, early in the morning of the same day, the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the Secretariat's decision on personnel work.

At the above conference, on behalf of the Secretariat, Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, presented the decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Bui Van Khang, member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, Deputy Minister of Finance , to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Secretariat also introduced Mr. Khang to be elected as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
