Agribank is aggressively promoting the application of population data according to Project 06.

Over the past period, Agribank, together with the banking sector, has focused on implementing Plan 01 between the banking sector and the Ministry of Public Security in deploying the Government's Project 06 to promote investment in building and developing information technology infrastructure, operational platforms, increasing digital products and services, creating convenience in payments, saving costs, and meeting the needs of people and businesses.

Agribank is aggressively promoting the application of population data according to Project 06.

Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6, 2022, of the Prime Minister approving the Project on the Development of Data Applications on Population, Identification and Electronic Authentication to Serve the National Digital Transformation in the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030 (Project 06) allows units in the banking sector to access the national population database, utilize information from chip-based identity cards, and use electronic identification accounts (VNeID) provided by the Ministry of Public Security. This plays a crucial role in enabling the banking sector to apply and deploy digital banking services online, accurately authenticate customers, prevent fraud involving paper documents, and prevent the opening and use of fraudulent accounts or the theft of customer access to digital banking services. Agribank's digital transformation plan is being decisively directed by the Board of Members, the Executive Board, and leaders at all levels, with resources focused on its implementation, including the deployment of population data applications according to Project 06.

To date, Agribank has completed the construction of a customer data authentication and cleaning management system that allows for the synchronization, management, and exploitation of cleaned customer data from various channels. This system provides strong support in connecting with the National Population Database and in updating biometric data and cleaning data for Agribank customers at branches and electronically. Currently, Agribank is urgently implementing data cleaning for all customers, aiming to reach all individual customers at Agribank in accordance with Circular No. 17/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 18/TT-NHNN of the State Bank of Vietnam. Accordingly, customers can update biometric data and personal identification documents on the Agribank Plus application, Agribank Retail eBanking, or directly at Agribank transaction points nationwide. Furthermore, Agribank has also strengthened the implementation of after-hours transactions to serve customers updating their personal identification and biometric information. As of December 20, 2024, Agribank had cleaned nearly 6 million customers' data. In the coming time, Agribank will further promote the application of population data in banking activities (social welfare payments, loan customer assessment, VneID electronic identification, etc.) in accordance with the policies and directions in Project 06 and Coordination Plan No. 01. In addition, over the past period, Agribank has continuously promoted and focused resources on researching and implementing solutions to promote digital transformation, building and developing a digital product and service ecosystem in accordance with the policy and direction of putting customers at the center. Specifically, Agribank is accelerating the deployment of digital technology applications across all product and service groups (capital mobilization; domestic payments; cards; international payments; foreign exchange trading; remittances; e-banking; treasury and money management; agency trusts; linked products and services, insurance, etc.). In particular, for digital platforms for individual customers (Agribank Plus, Agribank Retail eBanking), Agribank is upgrading and developing new utility functions (with nearly 90 utility services) such as updating customer data from chip-embedded identity cards, verifying customers based on transaction limits meeting the requirements of Decision No. 2345/QD-NHNN and Circular 17, displaying VIP customer information, managing accounts using identification codes (Alias), etc., providing efficient and high-quality digital services to over 12 million customers at Agribank. In the coming period, Agribank will continue to promote investment in developing product packages on new digital technology platforms such as Open API products aimed at Open Banking, applying artificial intelligence (AI) in customer care and support, Social Listening and Analytics, Digital Marketing… to diversify utilities and enhance the digital experience for customers. With its role and reputation as a leading commercial bank in Vietnam, Agribank has always proactively pioneered cooperation in exploiting the national population database, utilizing information from chip-based identity cards, and using VNeID electronic identification accounts to help customers and citizens enjoy many benefits from digital banking services such as online account opening, cashless payments, and especially biometric transaction authentication, contributing to the successful implementation of Plan No. 01/KHPH-BCA-NHNN on the implementation of tasks in Project 06.
