Egypt recorded a significant increase in tourism revenue.

Egyptian authorities recently announced that the country's tourism revenue recorded a significant increase of 14.7% between July 2024 and March 2025, reaching $12.5 billion compared to $10.9 billion in the same period of the previous year.

The Egyptian government has made efforts to boost the tourism industry, including developing tourism infrastructure and airports nationwide, improving hotel service quality, and implementing creative advertising campaigns to attract more promising markets to Egypt.

The Egyptian government is also strengthening tourism diversification to include cultural tourism, beach tourism, and medical tourism, thereby extending the length of stay and the average spending per tourist.

Tourism is one of Egypt's main sources of foreign exchange. The Egyptian government has also launched a national strategy to develop the industry, aiming to attract 30 million tourists by 2028.

In July 2024, Egypt launched an initiative worth over $1 billion to support the tourism industry, involving the construction and operation of new hotel rooms.

In 2024, Egypt welcomed 15.7 million tourists, generating $14.1 billion in revenue, surpassing the previous record of 14.9 million tourists in 2023.
