Man City still have the FA Cup final against Manchester United and the Champions League final against Inter Milan ahead. Against a struggling Chelsea side, Man City aimed for a victory to reward their fans and settle a score from past encounters.

12th minute: Palmer made a quick run down the left wing and passed the ball perfectly to Alvarez. Facing the goalkeeper, the Argentinian striker finished accurately, opening the scoring for Man City.
7th minute: Despite fielding a heavily substituted team, Man City are still completely dominating the game against Chelsea.
Coach Pep Guardiola made nine changes to the starting lineup for this match compared to the game against Real Madrid in the Champions League. The only two players retained by the Spanish strategist were Kyle Walker and Manuel Akanji.
Minute 3 : Palmer of Man City unleashed a shot from outside the penalty area, but the ball deflected off the Chelsea defense and went wide. Immediately afterwards, Gomez fired a volley from 25 meters out, but the ball went wide.
