According to TechSpot , AMD is expected to skip the Radeon RX 8000 to directly launch the new generation RDNA 4 GPU line called Radeon RX 9000. This product line is expected to appear at the CES 2025 event held in early January in the US.
The information was initially revealed by the Chiphell forum over the weekend and later confirmed by multiple sources. Accordingly, AMD's upcoming high-end graphics card is expected to be named Radeon RX 9070 XT, using a similar naming scheme to Nvidia's current GeForce RTX line. A hardware manufacturing partner of AMD has also "implicitly confirmed" this change.
RDNA 4 is AMD's new GPU architecture, focusing on improving gaming performance, ray tracing and AI, expected to launch in early 2025 at CES
A reliable source from a social network user named Hoang Anh Phu also confirmed the name Radeon RX 9070 XT. Accordingly, this GPU model will be introduced by AMD at CES 2025 along with the Ryzen 9 9000X3D processor. In addition, AMD is also expected to announce FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4 technology at the event.
A recent AMD promotional image is said to reveal the design of the RX 9070 XT. The card was spotted by a Reddit user, with a triple-fan design, a black-and-silver color scheme, and an LED-lit Radeon logo on the side.
According to another leak, the Radeon RX 9000 GPU series will include desktop versions such as RX 9070, 9060, 9050, 9040 and the high-end RX 9070 XT. In the mobile market, the options will include RX 9070M XT, 9070M and 9070S.
A French retailer also listed the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 early on its website, but those listings have since been taken down. Given the numerous leaks from various sources, it’s likely that AMD will officially announce the Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs at CES 2025.
