The model was built at Vinacam Agricultural Cooperative, Hon Dat Commune, with an area of 50 hectares and the participation of 10 cooperative members. DS1 rice variety was sown in clusters by machines of Saigon Kim Hong Trading and Service Company, with a density of 70 kg/ha, combined with buried fertilizer. This is a modern farming process, helping to save seeds, reduce costs and be environmentally friendly.
Model helps reduce emissions, move towards green agriculture and increase rice export value in the Mekong Delta
Ms. Dao Thi Nhu He, Director of Saigon Kim Hong Trading and Service Company Limited, said that the application of cluster seeders combined with fertilizer spreading has helped reduce the amount of seeds sown to about 40 - 60 kg/ha. Thanks to that, the cost of fertilizers and pesticides has also been reduced, while contributing to limiting emissions into the environment.
Initial results show that production costs in the model save 1.52 million VND/ha compared to traditional farming. Average profits reach more than 37.5 million VND/ha, an increase of 6.1 million VND compared to outside the model. In particular, the model also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the orientation of green and sustainable agricultural development and increasing the export value of rice in the Mekong Delta.
