Yen Bai - Today, June 2, over 9,500 candidates in the province entered the first day of 10th grade high school enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year. On the first day of the exam, all members on duty at 27 examination councils strictly followed the exam regulations, upholding a sense of responsibility to organize the exam to ensure the safest and most convenient for candidates.

Taking his daughter to the examination board of Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted at 5:30 a.m., Mr. Nguyen Van Dieu, Vu Linh commune, Yen Binh district, encouraged his daughter to try hard and stay calm while doing the test. Mr. Dieu's daughter has had quite good academic results in the past school years, winning many high-level district and provincial awards. However, because this is an important exam, Mr. Dieu's family is also a bit worried. Mr. Dieu shared: "I took my daughter to the exam early, encouraged her to stay calm, try to do her best to achieve the best results in this exam."

The first time she took her younger sister to take the entrance exam for grade 10 at the Examination Council of Le Quy Don High School, Tran Yen District, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Mai in Quy Mong Commune also had the same worries as Mr. Dieu. Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Mai said: "I was also very worried when taking my younger sister to the exam, I just hope she does well on the test to get into Le Quy Don High School, where I also studied."

According to the reporter's records, on the first day of the exam, the invigilation work at the examination councils was organized tightly and strictly. Candidates were present at the examination councils in a happy and relaxed mood. Most candidates had carefully prepared documents and items allowed to be brought into the examination room according to regulations. The Department of Education and Training organized delegations to inspect the invigilation work at all examination sites, ensuring discipline in the examination hall.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh - Chairman of the Examination Council of Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted, Yen Bai city, said: "The school has 597 candidates, 25 examination rooms, 100% of candidates arrived at the examination room on time. The school has prepared the facilities, the students all feel very comfortable when entering the exam". At the Examination Council of Le Quy Don High School, Tran Yen district, Ms. Duong Thu Thuy - Chairman of the Examination Council said: "The Council has 378 candidates taking the exam, 16 examination rooms, the Council works to ensure safety and seriousness".

At the end of the first day of the exam, the candidates left with different feelings. According to their assessment, this year's exam questions were completely within the content they had been trained for, mainly within the 9th grade curriculum. Especially the writing part through the analysis of the poem "Fireplace" by author Bang Viet. Through the reminiscence and reflection of the grown-up grandchild, it evoked emotional memories of his grandmother and the grandmother-grandchild relationship, at the same time expressing the gratitude and love of the grandchild for his grandmother and also for his family, hometown, and country. Candidates who studied thoroughly will certainly do well on the exam.

Bui Tuyet Mai - a fellow candidate at Le Quy Don High School, Tran Yen District, shared: "I did quite well in the Literature exam this year because my teachers reviewed a lot at school. I hope my test will get a score of 7.8". According to Trinh The Cuong - a candidate at Nguyen Hue High School, Yen Bai City: "I will definitely get a score of 7, because most of the questions in the exam have been thoroughly reviewed by our teachers at school".

On the first day of the high school entrance exam, the entire Yen Bai province had 32 absent candidates. All examination councils implemented the conditions well, followed the examination regulations, provided maximum support to the candidates and ensured security and safety at all stages.

Tomorrow morning - June 3, candidates will take the Math exam for 90 minutes in the form of multiple choice. After that, candidates wishing to take the exam for Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for the Gifted will continue taking the exam until June 4, 2023.
