In Hung Khanh commune, Tran Yen district, there are two high-tech economic models: the tea processing model of Khe Nam Tea Cooperative and the Bat Do bamboo shoot processing model of Yamazaki Vietnam Co., Ltd. The models that implement value chain linkages all have high added value and ensure food safety.

Specifically, for the Bat Do bamboo shoot processing model of Yamazaki Vietnam Co., Ltd., there is an Bat Do bamboo shoot raw material area of over 2,000 hectares; the method of purchasing products through joint contracts from cooperatives, Bat Do bamboo shoot cooperatives of the communes: Hung Khanh, Hong Ca, Luong Thinh, Hung Thinh (Tran Yen district) and Tran Phu Farm town (Van Chan district) ... with 14 purchasing points. From 2021 to present, the Company has processed and exported over 1,000 tons of products with a revenue of over 50 billion VND. In the coming time, the Company will continue to invest in increasing the total processing capacity to 5,000 tons of raw materials/year.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Khai - Manager of Yamazaki Vietnam Co., Ltd. said: "To create a linkage model in bamboo shoot development, local authorities have encouraged bamboo growers to establish cooperatives, creating a "bridge" between businesses and farmers. The company links with people from the stages of land selection - planting techniques - purchasing - processing to product export".

Bat Do bamboo shoots are sold under long-term contracts with businesses, with stable purchase prices... "Currently, in the commune, there are 8 cooperatives that maintain effective operations and have value chain linkage contracts. The cooperatives have linkage contracts with members on the use of products and services, attracting 1,875 members to participate. The rate of households participating in cooperative activities is 62.4%. This result contributes to bringing the average income per capita in 2024 of Hung Khanh to nearly 62 million VND, reducing the multidimensional poverty rate to 1.3%" - Mr. Tran Van Tam - Chairman of Hung Khanh Commune People's Committee said.

In recent times, despite many difficulties and challenges, Yen Bai's agricultural production has developed sustainably. Forms of production organization have been constantly innovated in the direction of establishing cooperatives, cooperatives and joint ventures, linking with enterprises to organize production according to value chains, linking production with product consumption. From 2021 to present, the whole province has supported the implementation of over 70 projects linking production development according to value chains for the province's key products. Typically: mulberry and silkworm farming chains; Bat Do bamboo shoot production chains; tea production chains, organic cinnamon production chains, etc.

Step by step build and form concentrated production areas such as: planted forest raw materials over 90,000 hectares; cinnamon over 82,000 hectares, hawthorn over 9,300 hectares; Bat Do bamboo shoots nearly 6,000 hectares; tea over 7,400 hectares; fruit trees over 10,000 hectares; mulberry over 1,100 hectares...

The province currently has over 620 establishments participating in purchasing and processing agricultural and forestry products. Of these, 55 tea processing establishments are in operation, with a processing output of over 14,000 tons/year; 321 establishments processing planted forest wood; 3 large enterprises processing and purchasing bamboo shoots for export; 3 cassava processing factories with a capacity of 30,000 tons of products/year; 200 establishments producing dried cassava chips; 2 enterprises with paper processing factories for export to Taiwan; 37 establishments and enterprises producing cinnamon products (essential oil, cinnamon bark, cinnamon powder, etc.); 3 companies are producing and processing large-scale medicinal products.

The path from production to consumption is shortened by the "handshake" between farmers and businesses. With the motto of mutually beneficial cooperation, many businesses have proactively provided input materials so that farmers can feel secure in production, without having to worry about product output. More importantly, with strict requirements on output quality, it has helped farmers change their production mindset towards ordering, committing to creating products of the right quality.
