Ha Lang promotes OCOP product development - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

In order to promote the development of agricultural products in the direction of internal development, creating branded products, increasing product value associated with the National Target Program on new rural construction, Ha Lang district promotes the program "One Commune One Product" (OCOP), gradually building key and typical agricultural products, improving the efficiency of agricultural production, and increasing income for people.

In order for OCOP products to promote production development in localities, the district has developed a plan and directed specialized departments to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns to propagate and mobilize subjects to focus on stages from production to finished products and must put quality first so that each OCOP product not only brings economic value but also carries the "mission" of propagating, promoting and introducing typical local products, associated with traditional culture in agricultural production of ethnic groups in the district to provinces and tourists from all over. Strengthen inspection, supervision and evaluation of production, business and management activities of OCOP products of enterprises and production establishments with OCOP products. Innovate the form of production organization, encourage and create conditions for cooperatives, enterprises and individuals to develop commodity agricultural production; maintain and expand production models according to the chain to improve the quality and value of products, especially typical products of each locality.

Directing functional departments to coordinate with the New Rural Coordination Office and the OCOP Program consulting unit of the province to conduct surveys, provide guidance, and support the completion of products according to OCOP criteria at enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities with products registered to participate in the OCOP program. Pay attention to supporting the development of brands of advantageous products of the district in conjunction with the implementation of the One Commune One OCOP Product program in the direction of enhancing the value of local and regional brands to promote the strengths of agricultural areas.



The District Department of Agriculture and Environment guides communes and towns to review and evaluate potential OCOP products, survey and guide entities with products participating in the OCOP program to prepare documents to participate in product evaluation and classification, plan for concentrated commodity production development, implement policies to support product development, improve product designs and packaging, print OCOP certification stamps for entities, form a production and consumption linkage chain, and facilitate the formation of OCOP products. Every year, organize training courses for managers and operators of the OCOP program at district and commune levels and entities on labels and brand identity; register and announce products, provide legal advice, manage production using the smart electronic stamp system (QR Code); advise and orient OCOP product development for localities; Review, select, support products participating in the evaluation and classification contest, support the completion of necessary procedures, innovate technology, improve product quality to be ranked and recognized as OCOP products.

Accompanying cooperatives, businesses, individuals, sectors, and local authorities to promote trade promotion, support businesses to deploy a variety of promotional activities, introduce products through forms such as: fairs, exhibitions, product introduction booths... Applying digital technology in communication, promoting e-commerce development for OCOP products through e-commerce platforms, social networking applications such as: Zalo, Facebook... Through trade promotion activities, the district's OCOP products have been widely promoted to consumers inside and outside the province, helping products get closer to consumers and creating new consumption opportunities.

Trieu Van San household business production facility in Quang Long commune is guided, supported, organized production according to food safety standards by specialized agencies, invested in processing machinery, packaged with full packaging, labels, traceability stamps... Up to now, Quang Long sticky rice and soybean products are ranked 3-star OCOP. Mr. Trieu Van San, the business owner, said: Participating in the OCOP program, I am supported to perfect the product, build the brand, develop the market, standardize the design and label of the product, promote the consumption of Quang Long sticky rice and soybean products. The business's revenue reaches 180 million VND/year.

The OCOP program has contributed to changing people's production thinking, improving the value and quality of products, promoting the potential advantages of each locality, gradually forming concentrated specialized commodity production areas, increasing people's income, encouraging people to invest in economic development and get rich right on their land. Up to now, the district has 7 3-star OCOP products. Notable products are Du Mong sausage, Thu Diep baked cake, Quang Long sticky rice, Long Thuy dried vermicelli, Tuan Tu corn wine... After being certified as OCOP products, the subjects basically complied with the program's criteria, invested, upgraded, expanded scale, diversified packaging designs, focused on promoting brands, bringing OCOP products to markets inside and outside the province. Many OCOP products have been well received and consumed by consumers inside and outside the province in large quantities such as: Du Mong sausage, Thu Diep baked cake...

After being recognized, OCOP products have brought economic efficiency, increased value for the subjects, contributed to improving competitiveness, expanding the market associated with new rural construction. However, after having OCOP products recognized, some localities have slowed down and have not actively reviewed existing potential products to mobilize and promote the subjects of the products to participate in the Program. Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phuong Duc Thien district said: In the coming time, the district will direct communes and towns to continue reviewing products in the area, selecting products with potential, advantages and qualified conditions to register to participate in the Program. For localities with OCOP recognized products that have expired, continue to mobilize and promote production subjects to improve product quality, improve designs, packaging and establish re-recognition records. Orientation for subjects to develop product ideas associated with traditional occupations and craft villages, potential products with local characteristics to participate in the OCOP Program.
