Hanoi opens event to introduce OCOP products associated with the culture of Southern provinces

The event was organized with more than 100 booths and about 1,000 craft village products, safe agricultural and food products and OCOP products from districts, towns and cities in Hanoi and 42 provinces and cities nationwide.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Chief of Office of the Hanoi City New Rural Development Program Coordination Office Ngo Van Ngon said that the OCOP Program is a key program for economic development in rural areas in the direction of promoting internal strength and increasing value.

This is an important solution and task in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the 2021-2025 period; aiming to promote the proactiveness, creativity, and cooperative spirit of entities and communities to develop OCOP products, meet market requirements, associated with the goal of creating jobs, increasing income for people, preserving traditional culture...

Implementing the OCOP Program, from 2019 to now, Hanoi city has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products (accounting for 21.3% of the country). Hanoi is also the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products.

For OCOP products to develop sustainably, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and central ministries and branches to continue to pay attention to and support the evaluation and classification of 5-star OCOP products; pay attention to supporting trade promotion, connecting supply and demand for Hanoi OCOP products through fairs, promotions, and product introductions at home and abroad...

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment also requested departments, branches and localities in the city to continue to promote and support participants in the OCOP Program so that OCOP products can increasingly spread in rural areas; at the same time, promote production organization in the direction of value chain linkage, in order to increase the value of OCOP products.
