Tuyen Quang: "Giving wings" to OCOP products to go far

To promote the construction of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas, Tuyen Quang province focuses on effectively implementing the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program for the 2021-2025 period.

Exceed targets, affirm quality

Thanks to the concerted efforts of the government and people, the program has achieved remarkable results, not only increasing the value of agricultural products but also affirming the Tuyen Quang brand in the domestic and international markets.

With the goal of exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality, the OCOP Program in Tuyen Quang has achieved impressive results. By May 2025, the province had 240 OCOP products recognized as achieving 3 stars or more, exceeding the set target by 104.3%.

Hong Thai Shan Tuyet Tea is a famous OCOP product on the market.

Of these, 201 products achieved 3-star rating, 38 products achieved 4-star rating, and especially 1 potential 5-star product. This success is a testament to the increasingly improved quality and value of local agricultural products.

Tuyen Quang's OCOP products are not only rich in variety but also diverse in locality, from Hong Thai Shan Tuyet Tea (Na Hang), Leaf-fermented Wine (Lam Binh), Sanh Orange (Ham Yen), to Xuan Van Sugar Grapefruit (Yen Son) or Thuat Yen Dry Noodles... These products have gradually won the trust of consumers and expanded the market both inside and outside the province.

Bringing OCOP products to the "big sea"

One of the proud highlights of the Tuyen Quang OCOP Program is the successful export of 7 products to the UK, a market famous for its strictness in food quality and safety.

These products include: guava tea, male papaya flowers soaked in honey of Binh Minh Organic Agricultural Products Cooperative; dried bananas of Chieu Yen Clean Banana Cooperative; green-heart black bean tea bags of Hong Phat Organic Cooperative; lemon syrup, kumquat syrup of Minh Thao Agricultural Products and Medicinal Herbs Cooperative and Soi Ha grapefruit of Xuan Van Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang province said that the OCOP program has created a fundamental change in people's awareness of agricultural production, promoting community strength and preserving local identity. This not only creates a diverse and quality source of products but also contributes to increasing income, creating stable jobs for workers, and actively contributing to the program of building new rural areas.

OCOP products win the hearts of consumers.

To further promote OCOP products, Tuyen Quang province has focused on promoting and promoting trade activities. Many large fairs such as the Tuyen Quang OCOP Fair in 2022, 2023 or the Tuyen Quang Trade - Tourism Fair 2023 have been successfully organized, attracting the participation of many OCOP entities inside and outside the province.

In addition to traditional fairs, the province also pays special attention to applying digital technology to promote products. Supporting cooperatives and production facilities to put products on e-commerce platforms and publish OCOP publications has helped products reach more customers, opening up a wide distribution channel.

Aiming for the goal of each district/city having at least one 5-star OCOP product by the end of 2025, the provincial agricultural sector will continue to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to support entities to upgrade products, expand production and promote the application of digital economy. These efforts not only aim to stabilize output but also help Tuyen Quang OCOP products gain a firm foothold in the market, both domestically and internationally.
