According to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan, the announcement of the cutoff scores and the list of admitted students for the first round of universities and colleges is expected to take place between 5 PM on August 20th and before 5 PM on August 22nd. This means that students will only know their cutoff scores in about two weeks.
During this time, many candidates were anxious and worried, wondering why, despite having completed the registration and paid the fees (ending at 5 PM on August 5th), the results were only announced between 5 PM on August 20th and 5 PM on August 22nd.
According to Master Vo Ngoc Nhon, Deputy Director of the Admissions Counseling Center at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, after candidates have completed registration and paid the application fee, the Ministry of Education and Training and universities begin implementing techniques related to the admissions process to provide the most accurate results for candidates.
"As we know, each candidate is allowed to register an unlimited number of preferences and will only be admitted to one. Once admitted, subsequent preferences will not be considered. From now until 5 PM on August 20th, the Ministry of Education and Training and universities will conduct six rounds of virtual filtering to arrive at the final results," Master Nhon informed.

According to Master Nhon, virtual filtering is a process where the system automatically reviews, screens, and eliminates lower-priority choices if a candidate has already met the admission requirements for a higher-priority choice. This process is repeated multiple times to ensure accuracy before the official admission results are announced.
The main purpose of the virtual application filtering process is to ensure that each candidate is only admitted to their highest-ranked choice, preventing a candidate from "occupying" multiple schools simultaneously. This helps minimize the "virtual" phenomenon in admissions, where the number of candidates identified as admitted does not accurately reflect the number of students who will actually enroll.
"Thanks to the virtual filtering process, universities can accurately determine the actual number of admitted students, thereby planning appropriate training programs and recruiting enough students according to regulations. At the same time, this process also contributes to ensuring transparency, fairness, and efficiency in the admissions process throughout the entire system," said Master Nhon.
Mr. Nhon noted that after the official results are available, candidates will confirm their enrollment online through the system by 5 PM on August 30th.
"During this time, in addition to waiting for the results, students need to gradually prepare for entering university in the near future. Maintain a regular and scientific daily routine and take care of your health," Master Nhon noted.
In addition, experts suggest that candidates should prepare mentally for living away from home (if in a different locality), define their academic goals, the student activities they will participate in, and prepare personal items and supplies suitable for living in their new place. During this time, candidates can also review necessary knowledge such as computer skills and foreign languages.
