The parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd demonstrates the cultural identity and aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people.

On the afternoon of August 7, at the regular Government press conference in July 2025, Major General Tong Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, informed about the preparations for the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 as well as the message of the activity to the people.

Major General Tong Van Thanh said: The organization of the parade in the celebration has been assigned by the Central Government to the Ministry of National Defense to preside over, coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security ; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Hanoi city and related departments, ministries, branches, agencies and units and will be carried out at Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2.

Implementing the Central Government's directives and guidelines, from the second quarter of 2024, the Ministry of National Defense has directed the General Staff to coordinate with relevant agencies, units and the Hanoi People's Committee to conduct a field survey of Ba Dinh Square, assembly areas, parade routes and draft a project. This will be followed by organizing workshops to solicit opinions from relevant ministries, branches and localities. Thus, from the second quarter of 2024, we have prepared very carefully and elaborately for this event.

Regarding force organization, there will be six forces participating in the parade, specifically including:

One is the traditional torch bearer and the pyre guard.

Two is the artillery force.

Three is the air force flying salute.

The fourth is the parade force. This parade force consists of four ceremonial blocks. 43 blocks represent the people's armed forces, of which 26 blocks are under the responsibility of the army and 17 blocks are under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Security. Regarding foreign military blocks, we invited four countries: China, Russia, Laos and Cambodia. Up to now, two countries have accepted the invitation: Laos and Cambodia. With China and Russia, our agencies will continue to coordinate to determine the participating friendly forces. Military artillery force, special police vehicles; sea parade force. 12 mass parade blocks and 01 cultural and sports block.

The fifth force is the background force, including the honor guard, 11 military units and 7 police units.

Six is the force of arranging shapes and letters chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The parade program includes: Traditional torch procession; second is the firing of ceremonial cannons; third is the air force's salute; fourth is the parade of the blocks in the following order: Parade of the honor blocks, parade of the walking blocks, the Army blocks first, then the foreign army blocks, then the militia and self-defense blocks, the police blocks.

After the parade of the walking group, there will be a parade of military vehicles, special police vehicles and a parade of armed forces at sea. The parade of armed forces at sea will be held in Cam Ranh Bay, Khanh Hoa and will take place simultaneously with the parade of military vehicles and special police vehicles; it will be broadcast live on Ba Dinh Square.

Then came the parade of the masses and the cultural and sports bloc.

After all these blocks march past the stage, at the end of Hung Vuong Street, they will divide into several streets so that people can see the close relationship between the blocks and the people.

Cultural and artistic exchanges will be held at two locations. One is at the Quan Ngua Cultural Palace; the second is at the August Revolution Square and the Opera House. This activity is to strengthen the bond between the forces and the people.

Regarding the training results, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the organization of training for the forces participating in this mission since the beginning of May 2025. Four joint training sessions were organized and two combined training sessions were held on July 17 and most recently on August 5.

The units and forces, through joint training and combined training, have achieved good quality and performed correctly according to the determined training program. Currently, the spirit, responsibility as well as health and technical conditions of the units are ready to carry out official tasks.

Some key milestones:

Comprehensive armed forces training takes place from 8:00 p.m. on August 21 and 24, 2025.

State-level preliminary review from 8:00 p.m. on August 27, 2025.

State-level rehearsal from 6:30 a.m. on August 30, 2025.

The official ceremony is at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025 and the location is at Ba Dinh Square.

Regarding the message through the parade, Major General Tong Van Thanh said that the parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 wanted to send the following messages to the people and the international community:

Firstly, we affirm the position, great stature, and great historical value of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in the history of the nation's struggle to build and defend the country; the continuous growth and development of the People's Army, the militia and the People's Public Security over the past 80 years under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Second, educating revolutionary ideals, patriotic traditions, pride, self-respect, the spirit of great national unity, inculcating the morality of remembering the source of water, expressing deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for the independence, freedom and unity of the Fatherland, arousing revolutionary heroism, the will to be self-reliant and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.

Third, demonstrate the strength of the people's armed forces, affirm the will of the entire Party, people and army to successfully carry out the national renewal process initiated and led by the Party and firmly protect the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in all situations.

Fourth, our parade program was organized solemnly, dignifiedly, regularly, safely and economically. The participating forces were streamlined and modern, demonstrating the unity and regularity of the people's armed forces, the cultural identity and the aspiration for peace of our Vietnamese people./.
