Diverse OCOP products processed from lotus

From the orientation of converting ineffective crops in low-lying, barren areas to growing lotus, up to now, this is one of the crops with high economic value that local people in the province have promoted investment in and expanded production areas. Through the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, a number of units and individuals have effectively implemented the model of linking production, processing and consumption of lotus products; of which 10 products (lotus seed powder, lotus heart tea, fresh lotus seeds, dried lotus seeds, lotus leaf tea, stone lotus tea...) have achieved 3-4 star OCOP certification and are popular with consumers.

Dong Hoa town is the leading locality in the model of converting ineffective rice land crops to growing lotus seeds with an area of ​​over 300 hectares.

At trade fairs in and outside the province, OCOP products made from lotus always attract consumers.

Fresh lotus seeds are purchased and brought to the factory to process into products.

Lotus heart tea products are used to cool down and detoxify during hot seasons.

All parts of the lotus plant (seeds, leaves, pistils, shoots, hearts...) are processed into OCOP products.
