Korean volleyball team asserts its strength
In the second match of Group D of the AVC Nations Cup 2025 volleyball tournament taking place tonight (June 19), the Vietnamese men's volleyball team (ranked 53rd in the world ) despite playing with great effort still could not surprise the Korean team (ranked 25th in the world).

Facing the top competitors in Group D, Coach Tran Dinh Tien fielded his strongest lineup with key players Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Quan Trong Nghia, Nguyen Van Quoc Duy, Dinh Van Duy, and Truong The Khai. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team played very well in games 1 and 2, leading their opponents many times. In particular, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan and Nguyen Van Quoc Duy, in addition to launching effective attacks, also had powerful smashes.
It was a pity that at the decisive moments of games 1 and 2, the Vietnamese players could not maintain their good playing condition while the Korean team showed their mettle, successfully overcoming difficulties with scores of 25/22 and 25/23 respectively. The decline in physical strength and spirit in game 3 caused the Vietnamese men's volleyball team to quickly lose 12/25 to the Korean team.
The loss to South Korea made the Vietnamese men's volleyball team enter the quarterfinals as second place in Group D while South Korea ranked first in the group. This result also forced coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team to face a very strong opponent in the quarterfinals taking place on June 21, the defending champion Qatar (ranked 24th in the world).
