Da Lat: Ancient pine tree uprooted and crushed a car

An ancient pine tree suddenly fell down, crushing a 7-seat car traveling on Pasteur Street, Ward 4, Da Lat City during a heavy rain on the afternoon of June 20. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.

At around 5:30 p.m. the same day, a car with license plate 50H… was traveling on Pasteur Street when a large pine tree was uprooted and fell on the front of the car. At the time of the incident, only the driver was in the car, fortunately no one was injured.

According to records at the scene, the pine tree had a base diameter of about 70cm and was more than 10m high. It fell across the road and crushed the vehicle, causing severe damage.

Immediately after receiving the news, the authorities arrived promptly to block off the scene, regulate traffic and cut down and clear the fallen tree to ensure traffic returned to normal.

Fortunately the incident did not cause any casualties.

At that time, Da Lat City had heavy rain and strong winds. Since the beginning of the rainy season, Da Lat City authorities have inspected and handled many trees at risk of falling. Previously, the locality also recorded a number of cases of trees being uprooted during the impact of storm No. 1.
