Currently, the STAR BUENO ship is still anchored stably, however, according to Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang, the weather forecast is currently unfavorable due to the storm No. 14 about to make landfall in the East Sea. The ship owner must immediately have appropriate solutions to successfully respond, prevent oil spills, and protect the Dung Quat marine environment.

Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Rescue and Relief (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army) said that in the immediate future, on the afternoon of November 7, the Central Oil Spill Response Center will immediately deploy two layers of buoys around the ship to prevent incidents. The two response centers of the Department of Rescue and Relief in the South and the North have also prepared specialized equipment, ready to receive dispatch orders if an incident occurs.
The ship owner of STAR BUENO proposed to allow the crew to return to the ship on November 7 to implement a plan to handle the incident. On the morning of November 8, two large-capacity ships will be hired to immediately go to the location where the ship ran aground to keep the anchor stable. Then, when the weather is favorable, the ship will move to the sea of Ho Chi Minh City to pump out oil, unload cargo, and repair the ship.
The competent authority requested the ship owner to immediately pump out all 2,200 m³ of DO and FO oil on board before moving, because the ship is punctured, with a high risk of an accident. At the same time, the ship owner needs to move the ship to Van Phong sea area, Khanh Hoa province instead of Ho Chi Minh City sea because the distance is short, it will take less time.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang assigned the Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority and the Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard Command to support the ship owner and rescue units to quickly deploy rescue missions. Quang Ngai Provincial leaders paid attention to directing and supporting the forces participating in handling this special incident.
The Department of Rescue and Relief directed the Central Oil Spill Response Center to immediately deploy appropriate measures, maintain response at the highest level until completing the pumping of 2,200m³ of DO and FO oil and moving the ship to Van Phong port, Khanh Hoa province to unload iron ore.
