The program will take place on the evening of November 16 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20). This is a special activity organized by the Vocal Music Department, performed by the Golden Age unit, under the artistic direction of Dr. People's Artist Do Quoc Hung, Director of the Academy; Dr. Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan as general director and Nguyen Thi Bich Hong as production director.
“Mentioning Professor-People's Artist Trung Kien is mentioning a great voice, a great teacher and an exemplary artist”, Dr.-People's Artist Do Quoc Hung emotionally shared. He emphasized: “The legacy that he left behind is a source of pride, a lesson in virtue, talent, heart and mind for many generations of artists. The program Forever Lyrics is a deep gratitude from the Academy and generations of students, and at the same time a continuation of the musical flow that he has worked hard to cultivate”.
"He brought back valuable textbooks from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and re-edited them to suit the Vietnamese voice. To this day, those textbooks are still the "backbone" of the vocal training program at academies across the country," People's Artist Quang Tho shared.

The program is divided into three parts: The origin of classical vocal music; Revolutionary music flow; Romantic and contemporary music, aiming to summarize the artistic path and great contributions of the teacher who brought international vocal methods to Vietnam, creating a foundation for professional teaching.
His students, now leading artists such as People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Anh Tho, Trong Tan, Le Anh Dung, Bich Thuy... stood together on the same stage. Each person brought a part of their memory, a note of gratitude.
Singer Lan Anh, who was once directly taught by the teacher, tearfully said: “When I was a poor student, the teacher knew I was having a hard time, so he quietly gave me money and said, 'Take this and eat to have enough strength.' To him, it was just a small amount, but to me, it was his whole heart.”

Head of the Vocal Department, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, also a student of People's Artist Trung Kien, shared: "Teacher Trung Kien is a "giant tree" of Vietnamese vocal music. When I was assigned to be the general director of the gratitude program, I felt both honored and pressured. Each performance is a musical memoir about the great teacher, who passed on the passion of the profession to us."
Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien (1939 - 2021) was Vietnam's leading tenor, a pioneer in bringing opera closer to audiences, and an "architect" in professional vocal training. He served as Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Director of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.
