Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang of the song 'Red Flower Time' passed away

According to information from his family, musician Nguyen Dinh Bang, who composed the poem 'The Time of Red Flowers' by poet Thanh Tung into a famous song, passed away on October 19 due to a stroke at the age of 84.

In his composing career, musician Nguyen Dinh Bang has two most famous songs: Con mua em bat thoi (Sudden Rain) and Thoi hoa do (Red Flower Time) . During his lifetime, the author was very fond of these works.

In addition to the song "The Time of Red Flowers" which has been loved by many generations of young people for the past few decades, musician Nguyen Dinh Bang also has a love song loved by many people called "Con mua em bat thoi".

If Thoi hoa do is a song based on Thanh Tung's poem, then Con mua em bat thoi was composed by him with both music and lyrics.

He wrote the song in a sudden beautiful feeling that came when he was in Ho Chi Minh City for work and saw a young couple standing to avoid the rain on the street.

Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang was born in 1940 in Dao Ly commune, Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province (now Bac Ly commune, Ninh Binh province), but grew up in the land of cheo Thai Binh (now Hung Yen).

Therefore, in 1960, he took the entrance exam for the Intermediate Cheo class, course I, of the Vietnam Cheo Theatre, and then became a musician of the theatre.

In 1967, following the call of the Fatherland, he and many artists of the Vietnam Cheo Theatre crossed Truong Son to bring songs and music to soldiers on the front lines.

In 1974, he went to study composition at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music). Under the guidance of professor, musician Chu Minh and many teachers at the school, in 1979 he graduated with honors in music composition with the ballad Thi Kinh - Thi Mau .

After graduating, he worked at the Music Publishing House until his retirement.

He continued to work at the Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center (under the Vietnam Musicians Association) until 2008 when he retired.

The song "The Time of Red Flowers" was recently honored by the Vietnam Musicians Association as a typical musical work celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
