Ha Long City celebrates 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press

On the afternoon of June 20, Ha Long City held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Attending the ceremony were leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and sectors, leaders of Ha Long City, and many journalists in the city.

Comrade Vu Thi Mai Anh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the City People's Council presented flowers to congratulate press agencies and units in the province.

Over 100 years of formation and development, since the first issue of Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc on June 21, 1925, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has accompanied the nation, contributing to great achievements in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

In Ha Long City, accompanying the process of building and developing the city, the press has always been a trusted friend, an important bridge between the government and the people, between Ha Long and the whole country and international friends. In recent years, the city has proactively coordinated with over 70 resident press agencies, over 130 reporters operating in the area, and press agencies inside and outside the province to promote propaganda about the potential, strengths, land and people of Ha Long.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vu Thi Mai Anh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ha Long City People's Council affirmed: The achievements that the city has achieved, besides the high determination, great efforts, drastic and effective actions of the entire political system from the city to the grassroots, also have great contributions from press agencies and journalists at all levels. At the historic moment when Ha Long City implements the transfer of the 2-level government model, the role of the press becomes even more important. Therefore, the city hopes to continue to receive more attention, support and close companionship from press agencies from the central to local levels. The 11 new administrative units of the city are committed to always creating the most favorable conditions for press agencies to work, access information quickly and transparently; At the same time, we are ready to listen to and accept criticism and contributions from the press to continuously improve the apparatus and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in the new period.

On this occasion, Ha Long City presented certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with achievements in propaganda work and contributions to the development of journalism in the city in recent times.
