Fire fighting practice at Cho Lon Electronics and Furniture Supermarket

On the morning of June 21, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with Cho Lon An Giang Electronics and Furniture Supermarket (belonging to Cao Phong Company Limited) to organize a fire prevention and rescue drill.

According to the hypothetical situation, an electrical short circuit caused a spark that caused a fire in the supermarket's product display area (where there are many flammable substances, such as: electronic equipment, refrigeration, wood, paper, plastic, etc.). The fire quickly spread to surrounding areas, creating a lot of smoke and toxic gas that covered the entire supermarket, endangering the lives of employees and customers who were inside shopping. Upon discovering the fire, supermarket staff used available fire fighting equipment and tools, deployed initial fire fighting plans, rescued victims and moved property outside, and called the professional fire department.

Upon receiving the fire alarm, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police quickly dispatched 3 fire trucks; 1 rescue vehicle, 1 command vehicle, along with more than 30 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with the supermarket fire fighting force to quickly deploy the formation, extinguish the fire, spray water to cool the warehouses, prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding area; rescue the victims still trapped inside; move valuable assets to a safe place. After 15 minutes of coordinated fire fighting between the forces, the fire was completely extinguished.

The practice session took place as planned, ensuring the safety of people and vehicles. Thereby, contributing to improving techniques and experience in coordination between the grassroots fire fighting force and the professional fire fighting force. In particular, it helps agencies, businesses and companies see the importance of fire prevention and fighting, raise the sense of responsibility, prevent fires and explosions from occurring, and have awareness of complying with fire prevention and fighting regulations.
