Gia Lai to host National Tourism Year 2026

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has unanimously chosen Gia Lai province as the host locality for National Tourism Year 2026.

On November 11, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent an official dispatch to the People's Committee of Gia Lai province, agreeing on Gia Lai province hosting the National Tourism Year 2026.

The Ministry assigned the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province to complete documents according to regulations and implement related activities in the National Tourism Year 2026, ensuring practicality and effectiveness. The event contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam tourism in general, Gia Lai tourism in particular, to domestic and foreign tourists.

National Tourism Year is a typical cultural, economic and social event of national and international stature.

The event is held annually to introduce and promote the image, culture, potential and tourism products of Vietnam to domestic and international tourists.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai - said that after the Ministry agreed to be the locality to host the National Tourism Year, the relevant departments, branches and units of Gia Lai province will prepare as required, develop plans, establish an organizing committee, and build a series of local festival events lasting from January to December 2026.

"Gia Lai was chosen as the host of the National Tourism Year 2026 not only to promote and advertise, but also to create a foundation to attract investment, develop products, infrastructure and high-quality tourism services," said Ms. Chung.
