The ceremony was solemnly held at the Am Hon Altar relic, Ong Ich Khiem Street, Thuan Hoa Ward, Phu Xuan District (inside Hue Citadel). Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee attended the ceremony with representatives of agencies and units in the area.

The ceremony to worship the dead is held with the basic rituals of the ancient Nguyen Dynasty and many items are displayed on the altar, such as: goat, pig, corn, potato, rice, sweet soup, sticky rice, fruits...
According to history books, after the mutiny in Hue Citadel, it was not until 1894 under King Thanh Thai that the Nguyen Dynasty established a Soul Altar near Quang Duc Gate, now located at 73 Ong Ich Khiem.
Every year, on the 23rd day of the 5th lunar month, the royal court holds a ceremony with solemn rituals and offerings to pay respect to the officials, soldiers and people who died in the fall of the capital in 1885.
